  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)

I believe Apple tags work by periodically connecting to nearby Apple devices via Bluetooth, ie there’s no gps on the AirTag, the position comes from the devices that detect the ping, so probably not useful for wilderness trekking.

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

Another good reason to swap the charge port location with the harvester gas cap location.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Thing is, at a gas station, you’re not sitting in your car for half an hour or more, and in all those situations you could just turn your car and drive (even at the gas station, don’t ask me how I know). There’s a different vulnerability when you’re charging. You can’t drive your car away...

Is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Sounds like a hallmark Christmas to me :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, those of us of a certain age are stupider than we might have been as we spent our formative years breathing in lead - https://dupri.duke.edu/news-events/news/20th-century-lead-exposure-damaged-american-mental-health I’m curious (not arguing, genuinely want to understand), I never...

The reveal of the Scout Traveler SUV and Scout Terra truck concepts ushers in a new Scout era - Official Press Release and Photos

Well, kinda. Technically, the harvester has a smaller battery, more like 150 miles from just battery, with up to 350 more from the gas generator. The drivetrain is pure electric, but still functionally a phev. Hybrid is a broad term covering lots of different ways of combining batteries and gas.

Well, the headline may be a little misleading. The article seems to indicate that it was a testing/trial run, and they’re using what they learned for the next revision. I’m skeptical too, but one of these days they might be useful for the boring/tedious/dangerous stuff.

This has been discussed ad nauseum, and lots of scenarios have been described for which an on/off button is just the ticket. TBH, it’s more than a little insulting to dismiss everyone else’s needs and opinions, implicitly elevating your own preferences. We can express opinions while still...

    VW/Audi lease program while waiting?

If they offer an Audi q6 like the one @Jamie@ScoutMotors got, I’d sign up!

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Looks like the town of Vulcan, Alberta won’t be too far out of your way. Never been there, but saw it on the Canadian series “still standing” : https://www.vulcantourism.com/

    Plug in hybrid.

Ok, ok, ok, but suppose (hear me out) while you’re towing up that hill, an alien ship suddenly beams gas out of your tank, right at the same moment the vehicle is struck by lightning, disabling the battery. Would I end up having to call AAA? 🙃

Ok, not sure if this goes here or off-topic, but Hyundai has a pretty cool video about their inverter:

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Oh, that makes so much more sense. I thought it was kind of new Hybrid Technology…
