With so many auto manufacturers pushing for EVs so hard a few years ago, and many opening battery plants in the US, I'm curious how those plants are doing with EV adoption being much slower than anticipated? Are there any good deals to be had on battery cells to keep those plants running at more optimal levels? I know Toyota opened a big battery plant 30 minutes down the road from me, but since they've gone virtually all hybrid, I doubt they have much extra capacity.

Getting something in country would at least take the mess of tariff games out of equation but guess it comes down to how good SM procurement team is

Keep in mind that the majority of batteries for Scout production vehicles can be imported into the US after the current administration is gone.

I'm quite certain that (regardless of party affiliation for the next administration) we will resume some semblance of normalcy when it comes to dealing with our strongest allies and working more collaboratively and cooperatively toward economic development that can be meaningful for the majority of American consumers buying trucks. I would not be at all surprised to see the revitalization of incentives in some way shape or form also (either for OEM's like Scout to pass through, or directly to consumers investing in companies committed to cleaner sources of energy).

They're pivoting to battery energy storage solutions (BESS) for tie in to the national grid. A lot of power companies are placing modular BESS' at their substations. The BESS acts as a buffer to relieve strain/demand on the grid during peak demand times.

Good information but this was from a year ago now. I wonder if things have changed or will change before there is a need to begin mass assembly. No one back then was likely predicting the future economic headwinds forecast that's upon us, and no one wants to see the price of the base model Scout rise above 60K but something will likely have to give...
