Scout Color Poll #1

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Okay I am putting this here. This is what I hope we don’t see when we are ordering our Scouts. This is the page with the little color bubbles for the R2. I know there’s a purple and a green in there but these are just all too similar. They just all have a grey undertone to them that makes them just too similar. Just my opinion.

This! This is what I am hoping and praying SM does not do. The R2 has 3 colors that aren’t black, white or silver/grey and you can only get them on the most expensive trim. I don’t think that’s right or fair. So because you either don’t want or can’t afford the highest trim you don’t get a choice of a “color” other than white, black or grey. Vintage Scouts were every color of the rainbow and I think they should be available on all trim levels. Fine charge for them, but make them available.

Also if there’s a limited edition launch edition I think a different color is okay as long as the launch edition isn’t limited to a small number of vehicles. If there’s launch edition is going to be limited to 5 or 10,000 then no I don’t think a color should be locked to that exclusive trim. I could just imagine the launch trip being PBY and my turn not coming up and I can’t get it. Oh I would be devastated.

Switching through the colors on the main R2 page it's strange how they don't list the color name anywhere when you make a selection. And I agree with you about the color presentation - I assume it's the the lighting choice for the stock images, but it really muddies the colors & they all seem dull & kind of the same.

I am 100% in agreement!

The colors these days are so full of gray that it's hard to tell if the color is gray or if it's gray. It could be gray, though. But, sometimes, it's gray.

I am sooooo sick of the monotone color palettes! Show me some color, let me drive down the street with the vehicle everyone notices. I don't want my Scout to just blend in with everything else out there.

I’m not a terribly capable person when it comes to recognizing good color combinations.

But I do know that all of the grey, gray, gray-white, gray-black, gray-green, gray-blue, gray-gray, grey-gray-silver, gray-grey-silver, silver-grey, silver-black, sliver-white, white-grey, black-gray, ad nauseum is just mind-numbing.

We need more colors in our world.

I get it, the aggressive blue of Ford’s Grabber Blue Metallic is maybe too much for some people.
But subtle and boring are very different things. And most car colors aren’t subtle, they’re just aggressively boring greys.
