I wanna see more details on the white and silver Scouts with what appear to be 3D-printed parts. The whole vehicle design process fascinates me.
I'm envisioning some of these things being options or configurable within settings.Lots of interesting stuff in there, thanks for posting.
From what I could hear of the "vehicle moving sound" (The AVAS: Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System), I thought it sounded good. I wish I could have heard it better, but understand why its obfuscated.
I also liked the recording of all the tactile/mechanical things, and agree they can be very satisfying. However, I haven't really thought about how I feel about having those same mechanical/tactile things, be played back if/when I did something that didn't have its own tactile/mechanical sound. IE, I... don't really know where I stand on having speakers play noises from a mechanical door lock playing, while I'm actually locking the door (or other similar things). Might be ok, but also, I could see how that could feel weird (hearing things like that over the speakers).
Unpopular take here: Despite having lived some of my formative years in the south, and loving the show "Dukes of Hazzard", I don't like country music, at all. So please, if you lean into the "Country Music is American", I'd hope its subtle, or can be disabled.
Ok my curiosity has peaked. Is it possible Jaime to get rusted squeaky door hinge sounds piped in every time we open the doors?Lots of interesting stuff in there, thanks for posting.

I would think the same, but now that I think about it, we can't do that with our current trucks.I'm envisioning some of these things being options or configurable within settings.
Oh, you had me at “grain silo.”Our latest Forging the Future video is out - The Sound of Scout. A sneak peek into how we go about creating all the sounds in future Scout vehicles.
What he said. Then again, there’s Johnny Cash and there’s Jelly Roll.Unpopular take here: Despite having lived some of my formative years in the south, and loving the show "Dukes of Hazzard", I don't like country music, at all. Personally, I think this would be a huge miss if they did it color specific. Actually what I would like is something like Genesis and Lucid have where you can go into the UI and select an environment. I experienced this in a Genesis rental car I had once and it was surprising how enjoyable it was to have on while driving sometimes. How about color and sound combinations?
Silo color and Silo soundscapes
Pacific Mist color and Pacific Ocean soundscapes
Terra Cotta color and New Mexico soundscapes.
I suspect that a color-sound matching would have to be an option purchase.
If you'd asked me earlier today if Jelly Roll was 1) a sort of gross pastry, or 2) a country singer, or 3) both of the above, I'd have definitely only said 1.What he said. Then again, there’s Johnny Cash and there’s Jelly Roll.
Yeah, there could be a lot there.Personally, I think this would be a huge miss if they did it color specific. SM could really create some unique grass roots type of environments like a slow flowing creek in the Appalachians or as mentioned prior the wind in Aspen in trees, and surely the sound of waves crashing into a rocky Pacific coastline. The possibilities are many!
I can’t wait to find out!Where are you going to use these old and natural sounds? It makes sense in the lock/unlock noise - like Rivian does with the bird chirp. Assuming the sounds will be "inspired" by those elements rather than direct recordings? Very curious.
You don’t want to know and you don’t want other to hear it. Trust me I know!Oh I like that idea. What does a butter churn sound like?![]()
It was definitely a solid, nostalgic soundThey had me right from the original "blinker" sound![]()
Wait, are we talking about this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jelly_Roll_Morton or this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jelly_Roll_(singer) ? I had never heard of the second one til I went looking for the old one just now,If you'd asked me earlier today if Jelly Roll was 1) a sort of gross pastry, or 2) a country singer, or 3) both of the above, I'd have definitely only said 1.
Did not even know that Jelly Roll was apparently a musician.
Yeah, there could be a lot there.
Thunderstorms, PNW style rain in the forest (not heavy rain), sound of snow underfoot, etc. There are many many options here.

Just think how cool it would be driving into Manhattan and the sound library changing to constant honking, dropping f-bombs and emergency sirens the whole time. With enough sounds, Scout could create a location-based "sound selection" or theme that you could opt-into and enable for road trips.
As soon as you crossed a border, reached a region with water, the sounds could chang to an ocean theme... If you got close to the mountains, it switched to a forest theme... If you hit the Heartland, it switched to the agricultural theme, etc. If the Sounds "library" grew, it could get to a point where each state even had it's own sounds.
Not sure I follow...I would think the same, but now that I think about it, we can't do that with our current trucks.
