We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

I think it depends on timing and what the used market looks like in my area, but have been eyeing up a Volvo C40 or possibly an Ioniq. I'd jump on a F150 if I could convince my wife lol.

I love my used Lightning I bought in September, but now with gas prices spiking, I'm even more glad I bought it when I did.

Maybe too long of a roadtrip for you, but I can't say enough good things about the dealer where I got my Lightning, Greenwave Electric Vehicles. Their main location is in NH and they just opened a new location in Salem, MA. They are unlike any dealer you've ever been to. They are the antithesis of the stereotypical sleazy, rip-off artist car dealer. They don't work on commission so as not to encourage bad behavior. If you call, ask for Jesse Lore, the owner. He is a really great guy.

I wanted to wait out my new vehicle purchase for the Scout Traveler BEV, however I had several factors that influenced me to purchasing a new ride.
1. My daily driver was getting 13-15 MPG (2001 Toyota Sequoia)
2. Daily driver - 2001 Toyota Sequoia (4.7L) with about 200K miles good for another 200K but maintenance items more frequent
3. Needed to semi-retire the Sequoia as it is my "work horse" like my '79 Scout (fully retired) was
4. I'm not getting younger and will easily be 70 before my new Scout is ready to pick up
5. After renting a BEV while on vacation last year, several things about ICE vehicles became "irritations"
6. From the valuable information provided by @SpaceEVDriver and other EV owners in this community, I had been studying available BEVs
7. I was playing online car quotes with no immediate intent to purchase
8. As gas prices started to rise and my Sequoia throttle sensor failed, it was a sign
9. The anticipation of owning a BEV and learning more about what I wanted my Scout to be, it got the best of me

I can say that, so far, my new BEV has met and exceeded my expectations.

Hey this is transportation and everyone has to do what works for them and their budgets. What’s did you get?
 
seems to be the latest trend in the industry by Legacy Auto. some legacy manufacturers just can't learn to build the tech.
Honda never believed in the immediate transition to EV anyway, so I'm surprised they're writing down so much loss on this.

Honda was more invested than you think. From Automotive News:

"Honda was caught out more than most its Japanese competitors because it was the most aggressive in buying into an EV future, plowing billions into EV production hubs in the U.S. and Canada. It was the only Japanese carmaker to set a timeline for phasing out internal combustion, by 2040, even though full electrics make up less than 2 percent of Japan’s domestic market."

2026 Ioniq 5 XRT. It's kinda their "off-road SUV". Having a Scout, I would say it's neither an off-road nor a SUV, but it's still a fun little vehicle with lots of features and roomy interior for its size.
Welcome to the club! The XRT is pretty cool.

I got my EV in September. And while I wouldn't "wish" high gas prices on anyone/anywhere like this, the fact that its making the Ioniq 9 a better purchase (by making the competing gas/hybrid vehicles we were considering instead have a higher cost of ownership), doesn't hurt anything.
