Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Jamie, anyway to get the color code for the new PacificMist Blue. Restoring a 1972 and would like to use this paint color.
Welcome to the Community! We all love to see restoration project pictures as you are going through the process. How fun! Welcome again!!

I was looking for an interior pic of the instruments, butttons and toggles at night. Wanted to see what the buttons and knobs looked like and if they were illuminated - I hope they are dimly illuminated in a thoughtful manner, BUT not like some of the Audi instrument panels and buttons I have seen. You get into some Audi's at night and it looks like you are about to take off in a 747 with 1000 mini lights in your face - no thanks. All of those buttons and lights should be reserved for core functions, which should theoretically be the case with Scout, b/c the implementation has a smaller subset of toggles and switches (reserved for core functions) which is great. Looking forward to some Scout after dark content LOL.

One of my long term desires is a complete kill switch for interior lighting - buttons, screens, and all.

I can see reactivating the dash with speedometer, etc. over a certain speed threshold for liability, but there has to be an extremely dim option.

Did you see the video from CES where they demoed detox mode? More than that or is that what you are talking about?

I did, and it’s a great start. But main screen off, not just black, and an option to turn off the instrument cluster display (again, I get that for liability reasons Scout wouldn’t want that off while someone is doing 60)

When I’m under 10-20mph in the mountains driving to a campsite under a full moon, completely killing all interior light is really a special experience. Even if they won’t do it in motion (liability, I get it) at least while parked I want my screens to have the option of being off so I’m not getting that backlight, or even minimal data displayed.

EDIT to add: detox mode at minimal brightness is probably great for overnight road trips too. Helps with eye strain and improving night vision, even with bright headlights.

You will like "Camp Mode" (or whatever Scout ends up calling it in production)... I'm guessing this will also be another easy to implement feature based on leveraging some of Rivian's Zonal stuff.
