Rivian CEO Interview

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Honestly we go to Chicago quite a bit and halfway is Dwight (home of the Basset Waddle. What is that you say? A yearly Basset Hound event. Complete with a parade of Basset Hounds and Bassets available for adoption). Anyway, we always stop there for gas and bathroom break. There’s 3 gas stations, one on every corner almost. Casey’s, BP and Loves. If just one of them would get a darn charger my husband would feel better about it. I’m holding out hope.
@SpaceEVDriver pointed out the Casey's but Plugshare says that Loves also has 6 chargers "Coming Soon." So I think you are covered. Come on over to the dark side, we have cookies.

If RJ and Rivian can’t fix their QC issues, they’re cooked.

No one is buying a $100k suv built like a Hyundai/Kia from 25 years ago.
To be fair, you bought them twice. Lol

But your experience is ridiculous. Nobody should have those kinds of issues twice from a manufacturer.

You’d think they would have had someone look that new unit over after your last experience.

errrr, smells a little fishy, eh? LOL... We need a TROLL emoji

In the end - the current EREV's are a dead end stop gap. Perhaps some day we will have fuel cells that are not a dead end solutions - but likewise almost certainly, battery tech will improve, kwh/kg will get better, battery charge rates, life cycles, etc will improve., Current EREV's are simply lets take the complexity of both and bond them together.

Actually, I tried to buy it a second time. I learned my lesson and moved on with my life.

The universe was speaking to me… “don’t own a Rivian” it said. I didn’t listen the first time, I took the hint the second time and walked away.

The only one I didn’t go to lol still cool man. Small world! Where are you located again?
Each time I see one of your posts with you're user names I have to do a double take and look at the icon with the similarity in the username, it's the icon that separates it for me. Now knowing you both reside in the same area makes me believe you're long lost cousins.
