That is tough!! I mean you are trying to convince us you don't have more than 1 "concept" model of each?!?!?! LOLOLOLBoth concept vehicles are currently undergoing refitting with scheduled changes and are out of commission for a number of weeks. So we won't make it this year.
Well now we know there’s the Traveler Buck at that baseball stadium in SC. We know that’s there’s at least 2 test mules that we saw in the winter tearing video. Anything else I’m forgetting that we know about? That is tough!! I mean you are trying to convince us you don't have more than 1 "concept" model of each?!?!?! LOLOLOL
The white Traveler spotted on display in Germany that someone shared recently.Well now we know there’s the Traveler Buck at that baseball stadium in SC. We know that’s there’s at least 2 test mules that we saw in the winter tearing video. Anything else I’m forgetting that we know about?
Yep that is an earlier iteration is my understanding. The white Traveler spotted on display in Germany that someone shared recently.
You know more than me!! Shoot! I haven't even seen that video you mentioned!Well now we know there’s the Traveler Buck at that baseball stadium in SC. We know that’s there’s at least 2 test mules that we saw in the winter tearing video. Anything else I’m forgetting that we know about?
I am not supposed to assume but for fun, I would assume they have AT LEAST 2 of each!!?? If not 3?? There's no way they have been showing these off for awhile now and there is only 1 of each "production intended" vehicles? One would have to assume that they are progressing to almost having a few test mules and pre production prototypes that they're not showing anybody as of yet??? IDK!!Yep that is an earlier iteration is my understanding.
Okay here is the winter testing video. The search function is going to be really helpful for you. There’s so much info on here. You know more than me!! Shoot! I haven't even seen that video you mentioned!
It sounds like a pretty stressful job taking care of the only two display models in the US.I am not supposed to assume but for fun, I would assume they have AT LEAST 2 of each!!?? If not 3?? I feel like it was mentioned at reveal that there are the two working prototypes and there were two bucks and I think they said one in US and one in Germany which tracks. Then there are the 2 (it was two in winter testing-right?) that are the guts covered with Frankenstein parts. Somewhere I read that a typical prototype can run over a million a pop so I doubt there are more but would be cool if a bunch started making rounds. It sounds like a pretty stressful job taking care of the only two display models in the US.
Just ask @CP1@scoutmotors what its like to nanny them around.
He has been kind enough to share a lot of the behind the scenes photos from their shoots.

Thanks for clarifying that @Jamie@ScoutMotorsSo to roughly break it down... We have only two fully hand built concept vehicles that look most similar to a production vehicle. Because they are hand-built they are still somewhat fragile.
Beyond that we have numerous test mules, but since we aren't stamping sheetmetal yet, these are frankenstein vehicles that have our full frame, chassis and drivetrain but required us to cover them in anything we had lying around. So they don't look like Scouts (or anything actually) but allow us to drive them, test them and do development work.
The design team also creates full-size mockups of the vehicle that are largely high-density foam and wood underneath with a pipe axle and real wheels that don't turn. The doors don't open and there is no interior, so the windows are tinted dark black. However the outside looks just like a full-size version of our vehicles and can be painted with real automotive paint so we can see how colors look on a full-size sample. We can also paint the vehicle two-different colors on each side and show different wheels on each side.
So yes, we have a number of Scout mock-ups built, but only two true concepts (so far) that we can show the public. We will make a LOT more over the next two years.

Also if you go to YouTube and search Scout Motors and CES you will find a bunch of videos from when they were at CES in January. Also you can find the original reveal video from
October of last year on YouTube if you haven’t seen that yet.
Additionally my husband and I went to Nats in June and he took 600 pictures of the concepts and the event. I have a whole thread with lots and lots of pictures.
We are in OHIO! IHS NATIONALS here we come!
We plan on getting there tomorrow at 10 and I started this thread to post my pictures and impressions along the way. I take it as a good sign that I saw the vintage Scout on the road in Indiana while we’re were driving here. I told my husband even tho I’m getting the Traveler we need to take pictures of the Terra as well.
It feels like Christmas Eve!!
I can’t promise anything but if there’s anything someone really wants to see let me know!! My husband loves using his camera.

Have fun! And feel free to ask if you can’t find something. Everyone is very helpful here.
Thats such a cool job. My dad worked at Sperry/New Holland farm equipment and used to take me in to see the mock-ups. Not as cool as car but was cool to see how all that design work came to fruitionMy father worked for Fisher Body building the full-scale clay models in the mid- to late-1950s. I don’t think he’s in this video, but could be...
