Actual dimensions based on what we configure

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I am looking way ahead, but when we are able to configure our Scout it would be really nice if it included the dimensions based on how we configure it. I love the roof rack and the 35” tires on the Traveler but want to make sure it can fit in my garage.

We have the length already.

The dimensions on their site show the length of traveler without spare tire carrier. It hasn't been updated to show the roof rack height though.

Yes we have the lenght, but is that height with the 35s that were shown at the reveal? It's my understading that there will be different tire options and now the roof rack. Depending on how it's optioned that will change height dimentions and it would be nice if it showed dimensions when you configure your Scout.

Knowing standard garage doors are 7’ high I suspect-though I dont know-the 33’s and probably roof rack would be designed to handle getting und a 7’ high door-otherwise a lot of sales would be lost. I’m thinking 35’s may squeak under but would be nice to hear from Jamie or SM team on this. It’s a valid point. I’m fortunate to have 8’ high doors so hoping I’ll have no issues with 35’s and rack

It would be cool if they included the max vehicle height as configured on the driver door data plate with your VIN, GVWR, tow rating, etc.
I would like when we are configuring our Scouts prior to order the dimensions show exactly with the options we have selected. Like if you select air suspension the height is from ____ min to ____ max. I would like a lot of detail when I’m ordering.

I mean, in this day and age, it just makes sense to provide a CAD file with all of the dimensions based on the configuration as-built.

Maybe Scout will provide reservation holders with a multi-page printout. It would be cool go get “blueprint” style printout along with a graphic rendering of their specific vehicle, with VIN, when they take delivery. And also that could get copied into the system where the manual is stored so you can put it on-screen when you want.

I doubt many will know what to do with a CAD file. But definity a ""blueprint” style printout along with a graphic rendering of their specific vehicle, with VIN, when they take delivery" would be great.

I know what to do with a CAD file 🤣. If nothing else I’d be adding it to all my drawings. If they add a 3-d Revit model I’d add it to our renderings as well. That would be awesome.
