What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
valet mode Like Tesla, locks glove box, limits speed, etc.
Nice if it also limited where they could drive, within 0.1, 0.25 mile radius, etc.
So like Geo-fencing. What sort of remediation would apply in this scenario? Removing vehicle features or lowering vehicle power/speed or texting parents that they have left a designated zone? Not sure how this would work.

Probably notify the occupant they are being recorded and their live location will be sent to the owner and give them a few minutes of warning so they can safely turn around if they leave the boundary.

Give admins the option to take other steps.

Disabling music audio.

Severely limit acceleration and throttle response.

Limit speeds from 55mph–>35mph—>15mph after a few minutes of warning messages. (Like most EVs do when low on charge)

Some cars with basic self driving can force the car to pull over in the shoulder and activate flashers if you fall asleep or stop responding so it could do that as well until you arrive.

Give the option to send location data to local police and activate the alarm.

"Some cars with basic self driving can force the car to pull over in the shoulder and activate flashers if you fall asleep or stop responding so it could do that as well until you arrive." This new to me. This is a cool feature. Now if we could have the vehicle take control and bring it back home after revoking driving privileges. :sneaky:

I was driving the Chevy Bolt EUV last week and remembered a feature I wish Ford would add. The remaining range estimate is not a single number. It has a lower estimate, a likely estimate, and a maximum estimate. I find this much more useful to explain to people that the vehicle is just estimating based on a number of parameters that are not well constrained.

I think it will be great if Scout implemented a 3-figure range estimate into their interface.

Example: The likely range for this charge is 182 miles, but the estimate is between a minimum of 149 and a maximum of 214. All three numbers adjust in real time based on driving style, weather, etc.

Found a video of the feature.

Guess which car company is showcasing it….

Ford’s BlueCruise

When BlueCruise is providing hands-on or hands-free driving and detects you are not looking at the road for a certain period of time, the system alerts you to return your eyes to the road. Depending on where you are looking, the alert can be a message in the instrument cluster and an audible warning.
If you do not react to the warnings, BlueCruise cancels, quickly activates and releases the brakes, and slows your vehicle down to low speeds while maintaining steering control.
.
.
.
If you are not paying attention to the road or your hands are not on the steering wheel and a cancellation occurs, the system displays a message and a tone sounds until you resume control. If you do not resume control in time, BlueCruise quickly activates and releases the brakes, and slows your vehicle to low speeds while maintaining steering control. If your vehicle slows down and you resume control, a message appears to prompt you to press the accelerator pedal to allow the system to resume.

Note: The system disables until the vehicle is turned off and back on if it detects repeated inactivity.

I've never tested it. There's a new version for 2025 vehicles that's more advanced and will do more automated things like automated lane changes (the version on my vehicles will change lanes if I signal).
I actually prefer having it only change lanes when I use the turn signal. Sometimes I’ve had it where mine changes lane for no reason and then doesn’t get back over so I have to do it myself. Maybe there can be an option for both if Scout has that level of automation to begin with.

I don’t like the robot making that level of decision for me. I am happy not to have the newer BlueCruise.

So hear me out... Active Noise Cancellation

It would be awesome if instead of artificial engine sounds being pumped in like so many EV manufacturers, I would love to see an active noise cancellation system implemented when you arent listening to music to help reduce road and wind noise.

Ok Scouts,

Our interface designers and engineers are looking for some more feedback from all of you and this time it is on:

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I would love to the look and feel of some of the Hummer interface when it comes to offloading.
