One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

All this talk of features we want and don’t want, etc got me thinking today. We have had so many new members lately, I’m just wondering what was the one feature you saw that made you pull the trigger and fill out that reservation form?

For me it was the tire carrier. I love the way vehicles look with a tire carrier on the back and there just aren’t that many. I remember talking to my son in the days prior to the reveal and he just kept saying it’s not aerodynamic it’s not going to happen. As soon as I saw that tire carrier I went to my computer and filled out my reservation form.

What’s your one thing????

The Harvester. But like you said, they have done so much right, exterior design, interior design, payload, …
The Ramcharger isn’t viable for us so with no other EREV options without the Harvester we would be looking very hard at the BEV.

The mix of screen and real knobs, switches and toggles. I still have to flesh it out and drive it and make sure it meets my needs. We’ll see.
Same. I've been contemplating jumping into the EV world for awhile, but none have quite enticed me enough. The screen heavy approach we'd seen in the last decade was a total turn off for me. I'm also a big fan of the retro boxy styling, I'd considered a new Land Cruiser before deciding I didn't want to take that step backwards in gas MPG efficiency. So when the Scout was announced with real buttons, it was music to my ears!

My 2023 Ford Bronco was technically my dream car. I recently made the decision to financially sacrifice for a personal family member that needed it, and trade in for a used Tesla as well as sell my motorcycle. I also bought the Bronco used and not from my factory order because of all the delays.

In retrospect, at an off road meet before the Bronco even came out I saw an original Scout and loved it. When I heard about the EV model and capacity I was intrigued.

Since driving the Tesla has been awesome and convenient to charge at home, knowing the history of the Scout, has all the capabilities and look as well as EV option, I have decided that things happen for a reason and maybe this was meant to be.

This is my goal and am very much looking forward to having my grand kids ride in it one day, dog on the bench seat, and head in the breeze again.

I currently drive a Tesla Model 3 and am looking to upgrade to an EV truck in the next few years. I don’t think the Rivian R1T is big enough for what I need and I really liked the look of the Scout. I’m not a big fan of the legacy automakers software, and as much as it’s interesting to see Cybertrucks on the road, I definitely have no interest in having one myself.

I was on a roadtrip to visit a few national parks and got to thinking about what would replace my daily/roadtrip vehicle. I got to researching and landed on the Scout. I had heard about it when it launched but I’m not really the type to reserve anything. Whelp, why not? I can always cancel if they end up building something I’m not interested in.

This is it for me too. I think they hit the right balance of digital and analog, virtual and physical. I've been driving Teslas since 2010 and do not like the direction they are headed. I started with the Roadster which was fully analog (based on Lotus Elise), then Model S, another Model S, and now a Model X Plaid. At each step they were removing more and more physical things. When Tesla removed the turn signal and drive selection stalks on my MXP that was the last straw. I was able to install aftermarket stalks but the fact that I had to do that is just stupid. I will probably miss the power of the Plaid but I can't bring myself to continue supporting their relentless removal of all controls.

Beloved family car from my childhood that got like 11 miles a gallon made electric with the reveal happening two days before the first time it would be my dad’s birthday without my dad being alive made it incredibly easy to throw down a hundo. My dad was interested in hearing about the EV Scout, so I’m just following up for him (and my mom, who is still with us). 🥲
