What Song Will You Play First in Your New Scout?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Okay this is going to start somewhere odd so just go with me. I just found out that Barilla the pasta maker has Spotify playlists for how long it takes their different kind of pastas to cook. I looked. They are there. If you are cooking their spaghetti for example you look up Barilla spaghetti on Spotify and there’s a playlist that’s the length of how long it takes to cook it. So you start it when you start cooking and then the songs are done, the pasta is done.

I have created a Scout playlist on my Spotify and I’m adding songs now for when I get my Scout and drive it home. I want to do factory pick up.

Anyway both those things got me thinking. It would be fun if Scout made Scout trail playlists. Like for popular places like MOAB for example, they could have a playlist that would be the length it takes you to drive a trail. And if you aren’t into being out on the trial you could listen to it as you are driving to the mall and pretend!😹

The little Italian in me was so happy to learn this, until the little Corsican in me heard the commotion and knifed him.

Go one step further and also post all their interviews as audio only experiences. At that point we have our Scouts and can stare at them daily like star crossed teenagers so listening to the stories all over again while driving would be fun. Another expansion of your idea would be narrated trail rides for history geeks and people who want to learn about the lands they are exploring. Time those as well -like self guided tours when they give you the head sets and set you lose in a museum, castle, abandoned mines, etc…

That’s an awesome idea! I would love that.

What Song Will You Play First in Your New Scout?

The 20 best driving songs of 2024

Insurance.com's driver survey puts classic rock on top, but it's also a little bit country. Below is a list of the best road-trip songs, with the percentage of survey respondents who picked that tune in parentheses.

1. "Highway to Hell," AC/DC (11%). The largest percentage of drivers surveyed say AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" is the best driving song. This staple of the classic rock era was released in 1979, and has clearly stood the test of time.
2. "On the Road Again," Willie Nelson (10%). Rolling into the No. 2 spot is another classic: Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again", a song that was actually released slightly after AC/DC's top spot winner, in 1980.
3. "Life is a Highway," Tom Cochrane (8%). First released in 1991 and given new life thanks to a cover recorded by Rascal Flatts for Disney's Cars soundtrack, the hit landed the third spot.
4. "Born to Be Wild," Steppenwolf (7%). The oldest song on out list, "Born to Be Wild" was released in 1968 and was cemented in history the next year on the soundtrack of the Peter Fonda classic Easy Rider.
5. "Free Fallin'," Tom Petty (7%). Petty released "Free Fallin'" in 1989, and it became his biggest hit, spending more time and charting higher on the Billboard charts than any other Petty song. Our survey respondents put it in the No. 5 spot.
6. “Party In The U.S.A.,” Miley Cyrus (5%)
7. “Hit the Road Jack,” Ray Charles (5%)
8. "Shut Up and Drive,” Rihanna (4%)
9. “Born to Run,” Bruce Springsteen (4%)
10. “Fast Car,” Tracy Chapman (4%)
11. “All Too Well,” Taylor Swift (3%)
12. “Royals,” Lorde (3%)
13. “Watermelon Sugar,“ Harry Styles (3%)
14. “Interstate Love Song,” Stone Temple Pilots (3%)
15. “We Are Young,“ fun., Janelle Monáe (2%)
16. “Break My Heart,“ Dua Lipa (2%)
17. “Ophelia,” The Lumineers (1%)
18. “Sucker,” Jonas Brothers (1%)
19. “The Middle,” Zedd, Maren Morris, Grey (1%)
20. "I Can't Drive 55," Sammy Hagar (>1%)

Prove your age...And, of course, favorites vary by age.
Here's a look at the top picks by age group:
18-24: “Party In The U.S.A.,” Miley Cyrus
25-34: “Party In The U.S.A.,” Miley Cyrus
35-44: Tie: "Highway to Hell," AC/DC; "Life is a Highway," Tom Cochrane; "Free Fallin'," Tom Petty
45-54: "Highway to Hell," AC/DC
55-64: "Highway to Hell," AC/DC
65+: "On the Road Again," Willie Nelson

I think that I will prove my age and play classic rock:
Foghat-Slow Ride
AC/DC-Highway to Hell
Golden Earring - Radar Love
Sammy Hagar - I Can’t Drive 55
Supertramp - Cannonball
Don Henley - Boys of Summer
Tom Petty - Runnin’ Down a Dream
Allman Brothers - Midnight Rider
War - Low Rider
Whitesnake - Here I Go Again
Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone
Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild
Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son
Queen- Don't Stop Me Now
Meat Loaf- Bat Out of Hell
Pink Floyd-Echoes
Eagles-Life in the Fast Lane
Chris Stapleton-White Horse & Tennessee Whiskey

"Long as I can see the light" just played in my car, and I took my time to yell each person that has pissed me off in the past 24hrs on this forum out my window with the song blasting. So, whoever has pissed me off here in the past 24hrs thank you it was really fun letting people know the people I hate!

Mainly the ones that have started sex/gender segregation in the forum I yelled out the window.

So, boys you're all safe! even the ones that might not agree with me on some things, but we deal with it like men. And continue to solve problems.

Falling off the rails here Timmy. I'm sure this was perplexing for bystanders.

Are you kidding? They we’re loving it. Going 85mph on the parkway, and yelling usernames out the window. People were dying laughing.

During 2 months before Christmas, I blast Christmas music and belt it out, people love it or some others not so happy people hate it. #losers
