  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Wheel size options

The scout is not going to have a GCWR of 17k. My 9k lb Ram2500 can haul 15k lbs and the 17” were fine. Plenty of braking power under those 17” x 9 rims.

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

I for one do not want a gas option at all. I’d prefer a 500 mile range EV SUV that I never have to take to a smog testing facility. I also never want to deal with oil changes, engine maintenance schedules, or gasoline. EVs are the future, just as the horseless carriage were more than 100...

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

I concur. I’d love to see Scout use solid state batteries and give us a BEV with a true 500+ mile range

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

Yea, even they knew 2000 wasn’t a big deal and they just looked at stars… And it didn’t end, it started over.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

Anyone who really believed the world was ending because of a year change either never read any books on how our modern calendar was created or spent far too much time covering things with aluminum foil…

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

I don’t know where you were, but I knew exactly what was going to happen on 31 Dec 2019. It was New Year’s Eve, my wife and daughter were spending the day enjoying the SoCal sun, and that evening we drove to the bay to watch the fireworks as the clock hit midnight and the date changed from 2019...

    Retrofitting a winch

Further searching for your winch specs led me to this warn blog: https://www.warn.com/the-history-of-the-warn-belleview-winch In this blog they talk about the benefits of a modern winch over their first version, the M6000 from Belleview under the Warn name.

    Retrofitting a winch

The shear size of that winch might be the prohibitive factor. Not to mention, the 6000lb max load, maybe you are lucky and have the later 8000lb version Considering the Terra should weigh in about 6-8k lbs, this winch is woefully under powered for any type of recovery efforts, unless you’re...

    Retrofitting a winch

The ability to install said 60 year old winch to the terra will depend on the volt and amp draw, plus the bumper and its ability to mount said winch. Do you have the specs of the winch?

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

I’d much rather a solid roof. I can’t tell you how many time I dropped stuff on the roof of my 4Runner loading gear. I’d rather not risk breaking the glass or tearing the ragtop. Solid metal please, no sunroof

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I for one do not want an extended range ev. Especially in CA where even the generator on a vehicle requires smog testing. Get me a BEV using solid state batteries with a 600+ mile range. If Mercedes and BMW can prototype these today, we should have them in 2 years globally.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Are you a bot DW? Because you have the same post twice without cause.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I don’t base my decision to purchase solely based on price. Does the number align with the value? How does it compare to the competition? Does the vehicle meet my needs? Like many of you, there are specific items we would like to see in a 60-90k EV. I’m big on build quality, range...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I don’t care the scout starts at $60k. Like you mentioned OP, I’m also a high earner. My first EV was an Audi eTron, 80k + TLD My first R1S was 109k+ lux tax, reg tax, registration and docs fees. Biggest POS I’ve ever owned. I made the mistake of ordering a second R1S, the quad LE at 129k...
