  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

Geez, these jobs make me question my career choices 🙃 This kinda sums things up for me: https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/computer_problems.png

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I’ve seen similar things (videos, articles, prototypes) over the last few years. Are we sure that’s what “also” is? Seems a bit overhyped if that’s all they’re talking about.

All EV/BEV needs its own name!

Ambiguity is the soul of poetry :) Seems to fit nicely with “harvester”, and we have to save “reaper” for that all black trim, or maybe racing edition.

Also, it’s kinda funny that they compare it to China, as China seems to have stricter rules about self driving, cf recent prohibition on Tesla using term “full self driving”. I don’t think it’s about encouraging innovation, it’s about sweeping away safety rules that Tesla doesn’t like, and it...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I’m a big ev fan, but I’m glad Scout has the harvester option, making it a good choice for a lot more people. It’s a gateway drug :)

    Hey Lady Scouts!!

If it’s working properly, the refrigerant should be contained, not leaking out to the world, so shouldn’t cause any pollution problems.

The smaller size of the rav4 is convenient too.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I think it’s not as strict as that. I’m no battery expert, but from what I gather it’s more like you don’t want it at sitting at 100% all the time, you don’t want it to sit at 0% for very long, so generally keeping it between 20%-80% is a good rule of thumb. It doesn’t hurt to charge it all...

Hoping for a simple option - will pay extra!

Yup. I’m not so interested in my car driving for me, but I definitely want it to keep me from hurting someone else, and to keep me from getting hurt. And third to keep me from getting dents or paint scratches 😋

In what movie franchise would you like to see the new Scout make an appearance?

sounds like a good reason to rewatch 👍🏼

The port door also covers 3 regular outlets, so if those aren’t locked out someone could steal your electricity. It should be pretty straightforward to control access with software, edge if your car is off, ne electricity, but it it’s not out of the question that you’d want that locked down at...
