  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

As for me, the EREV for the Terra needs to tow 10k lbs like other gas trucks to compete as advertised in a work truck or overlanding truck. going up grades on a mountain or towing anything will kill battery life really quick so the extra juice to get you to where you want to go is what a lot of...

    March 14-15 Overland Expo Socal

Has Scout thought about showcasing at any of the Overland Expo events? Overland Expo Socal is coming up and always draws a large crowd for the overlanding market and all the vendors.

March 2026 Atlanta International Auto show?

Any plans for Atlanta International Auto show for March 2026? The south needs an appearance for us. I almost flew to LA for the auto show but so close to the holidays for me. Wish I did though. Who else in GA or close by would come see it in ATL?

    1973 Scout II

I bought this Scout out of Arizona 7 years ago and spent the last 2 years in restoration. The body had lots of rust, and most panels have been replaced. This build will have a LS1 swap with 6L80. Lots more to do but getting there and hopefully complete when the new Terra comes.

    1973 Scout II

Here is my 73 Scout II. Got back in 2020 and spent a couple of years in storage and then to restoration. Currently prepping for paint and LS1 with 6l80. Will post more pictures after paint. Can't wait to park it next to the Scout Terra in reservation.

So what if Volkswagen dealers win and stop direct sales?

I just read an article about this today on VW group trying to take this to court. made go on here to see what people are saying. I don't think it will happen either as they are a separate entity under VW AG. There is no way VW cars are competitors with the Scout.

    Jessedang0605 1973 Scout II

Scout came from Arizona in an ugly old green primer with only a bikini top. It has a V8 that didn't run so well. I picked up a hardtop off craigslist and had the Scout in my driveway for a year. I moved to Texas and sent it in for body work. Found tons of rust and currently still working on...

    Scout motors dealers?

What will Scout Motors business model be to sell vehicles? Will it be direct sales to customers like Tesla and Rivian or will it utilize dealers? I would hate to pay the dealer mark ups.
