First meal in your Scout

So my daughter is getting more into the scouts and wants one too. First it was Terra but having seen the new mountainside she now wants that. Or at least that color and SUV. She may want more geared up as she’d like to travel in hers, maybe not full overlanding but somewhere more wild and staying in vehicle. Anyway, we were talking last night and she’s too busy wrapping up college to get sucked into the forum (naaahhh-that doesn’t happen) but she asked me to post her thread idea. Knowing she may travel and many people eat on the go, between practices, road trips, etc.. so she wondered what scout owner’s first meal on the go will be-fast food, Wawa hoagie to go, sonic drive in or made at home PB&J with the crust cut off. What do you think/plan your first mobile meal to be?

Having traveled to the plant now I have an idea of what’s there. I have to think about, but I first wanted to say, your daughter rocks and I can’t wait to meet her!! A girl after my own heart!!

She also calls the door handle the French fry holder and reminded me you put the container in so the high side of fry box is on inside so fries don’t fall out as easy

Now for my husband I did promise him Southern Fried Chicken while we were in Columbia. We ate at Tupelo Honey since it was near the stadium. He said it was good fried chicken, but not amazing.

I was speaking with Agent W at the event and they said oh no you have to get out of town to get that. This was their recommendation. So for the hubs after we pick up my Traveler it’s off to Bernie’s for broasted chicken.

That's what they make hand rolls for, bruh!

This is actually a legitimately good question, and largely depends on how I'm getting my truck. If it's a factory pick-up it's going to be some chain (most likely) out that way that isn't here in TX. If I have it delivered to home, it's probably going to be some quick after-work peanut grab from the gas station.

Broasted is the only way to do fried chicken. Big in Lancaster county

By the way, after deliveries start we are going to need detailed reports from people. Did they opt for factory delivery, home delivery? Make a trip out of it or just there and back home without and detours? For those of us getting BEVs for the first time did we run into any difficulties and use a phone a friend with an EV owner that we called in a panic to talk us through it. Do we have a group of EV owners on here willing to be friends for us newbies to call for help?

I typically won’t eat in my vehicle (except jerky on a road trip)… but I would probably be ok with a drive in (sitting still with extra napkins)!

If factory delivery is on the table, I will drive my Scout to eastern North Carolina to see my best friend. We'll take a 40-minute road trip to a drive-in I have wanted to visit: https://elsdrivein.com/. They have shrimp and oyster burgers in addition to traditional fare.

We had an A&W not far from us-nothing better than cold draught root beer. But like so many things it has gone away.
Just north of Harrisburg along the Susquehanna River is a place called the Red Rabbit-haven’t been for years but think I would like to make that my first dine-in experience when I get mine. Or local ice cream spot if that counts as a meal

Love a good shrimp burger. Had several in Beaufort years ago-presume those places still exist

Well, if you do a factory pickup in Blythewood and head East on Rt. 20, there is a Buccee's about 90 minutes from the factory. They have EV charging and fresh BBQ brisket. We just need a volunteer to try it and let us know how it goes.

I have eaten Buccee's on several trips, for the messy stuff like BBQ you eat in the parking lot. With lots of extra napkins.

You know, I will say that was the disappointing thing with my current truck. Have had lots of helpers including my Dad (haha) spill coffee in my truck. At least they’re not the type to add cream and sugar, but still.

At least a solid, non-saucy food item can just be picked up and discarded.

That’s kind of how I feel too but I’ll cave at some point-but I’ll try to wait as long as you. I’m impressed you’ve named your scout already. Still thinking about it
