I’ll trust Ford again when they fire Farley, stop flapping in the political winds, and deliver several new BEVs for longer than an election cycle.Enough to earn back @SpaceEVDriver's trust? I think not.![]()

This Is Our First Real look At Scout's Rear-Mount Range-Extender Engine
Scout's back-of-the-bus engine choice looks even stranger in these images, but we clearly see its Volkswagen heritage in action.carbuzz.com
One way to solve this would be to take a page out of aerobatic airplane (inverted) engines and use a 3-way shuttle valve with pickup tubes pointing in all of the possible ways and to add a dry sump pump. One of the reasons the engine isn’t just coming from the factory today is because they need to engineer solutions to issues like this, the extra thermal considerations they’ll be facing, computer controls for RPM, and other issues. My brain jogged back to this. IF the Harvester engine is canted rearwards at a 50-degree angle, what happens to it when I'm off-road, climbing a 100% grade (45-degree angle)??? Whether it's running or not, it'll be past horizontal and all the oil will be draining through the engine down to the head...
Just a thought, and something I'm hoping they're taking into consideration since it can be a problem for ICE vehicles with vertical engines and their oil pickup-tube on the wrong side of the oil pan.
Until SM releases specs… it’s just not Gospel. My brain jogged back to this. That puts your team ahead of a lot of other manufacturers (including Porsche) that fail to account for things like this, off-camber crawling, cornering G-forces, etc in their oil pickup systems. The team here is well aware of any potential use issues.![]()
Y'all could release the BEV's, get units on the ground and let us start racking up the mileage. The team here is well aware of any potential use issues.![]()
I hear you on this. I looked at the article though and I saw this bulletI’ll trust Ford again when they fire Farley, stop flapping in the political winds, and deliver several new BEVs for longer than an election cycle.
Ford is pushing ahead with its EVs, and a roughly $30,000 midsize electric pickup truck, despite challenges in the industry and the departure of its highly touted EV and technology head.
Ford’s EV product leader, Alan Clarke
The Tesla veteran of 12½ years was recently promoted from a senior director to vice president of Advanced Development Projects. That came as Ford’s highly touted EV and technology head Doug Field last month announced his unexpected departure.
Clarke, who was recruited by Field, continues to speak highly of him. Farley has also continued to praise the Tesla and Apple veteran since he announced his departure on April 15.
“He’s set us up for success, as has Jim,” Clarke said. “It’s certainly not that nothing changes. I think it’s at the stage we’re in; this is the thing that’s best for Ford, and I think Doug certainly recognized that, and it was the right time for him.”

That’s the perfect way to kill the brandI don’t know what Honda is thinking.

You're Going to Have to Wait Way Longer for a Next-Generation Honda Accord and Odyssey
Honda's $15.8 billion hit from canceling plans for three EVs will mean the company's lineup will have to soldier on without major updates until after 2030.bit.ly
That’s a really strange headline for “the R2 is more efficient than the R1.”
I’d love an electric Miata or MG B, but I don’t actually fit in them, so I’ll stick with an electric Mustang.
Tesla roadster?
Wait, I was told 2 door cars don't sell?
More optimistic article here: https://www.theverge.com/transporta...NymrcM48JzskgioSYbGhVLRU&utm_medium=gift-linkI hear you on this. I looked at the article though and I saw this bullet
And my first thought was this guy: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/15/business/ford-electric-vehicles-doug-field.html I don't know anything about him but given his employment history, his departure is likely good for Ford EVs.
Then I saw who is in charge now
Yeah, nevermind. I 100% agree with SpaceEVDriver.
