Scout Concepts are coming home April 18-20, 2026

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Even more than specs, I’m dying to see the launch colors. And exactly. I hope everyone gets what they want. If Scout doesn’t make PBY I have a choice to make, do I pick another color I like and that becomes what I want, do I wait to see if they someday have PBY. Or something else. We shall see what happens.
Just get black and give 'er a wrap if they don't give you your PBY. That's what I'd do.

I get the logistics of the supplies and suppliers and all the trial and error that will come from choosing the paint colors, but just think about how high a new level of excitement around SM that could come from them releasing the launch colors "early". That is of course as long as they're not just mostly black, white and shades of gray. 😅

I really wish auto paint was as easy to mix up as house paint - it's honestly surprising to me that you can't add pigments to a base & apply. Especially if you're doing a DTC model & your buyers are customizing a vehicle & prepared to wait.

Maybe you don't have thousands of gradations like a Sherwin-Williams store, but I know the old Scout color books are floating around a thread or two here, so even offering like 15 - 20 colors to choose from would be huge.

That would be amazing if they had that many colors. Honestly I would be happy with 10!

The problem is paint comes in large containers and has a shelf life so if a rare color only gets used on one in 25 vehicles it goes “bad” before it can all be used and that drives up waste costs

I'm hoping they release colors early, with lots of choices. A lot of people are going to need a year+ to decide on a color combination if Scout keeps coming up with awesome colors. :ROFLMAO:

Many manufacturers launch with more colors initially, then reduce them afterwards, so I'm hoping for the same here.

10-20 colors would be insane, but also not very likely unfortunately.

Agreed there are a lot of people will need time to decide a color but I know at least one that wont.... @cyure 😅

Let’s say it was the 5 colors we have seen so far plus black and grey, I would get Tahitian Red. That’s my second choice. It’s beautiful. Exactly the way the OG concept was. My husband who is not a fan of tan interiors, he really liked that clay interior.

We just have to see. PBY is my number one, but as pretty as all the colors have been I’m sure I will find one I love almost as much if they don’t have it.

Like this. So black roof, mirror caps and wheels. No roof rack but roof rails. Gemini did something weird to the back window. No idea why. You all get the idea.

And I may just like this color so much because it was the first color I saw in person and I imprinted on the thing like a baby duck! 😹

Can you do that with dark bronze wheels? Pretty please?

I don’t. They haven’t confirmed any colors yet. I’m still gonna keep screaming PBY until we see actual colors released.
I still think someone needs to be tracking the number of times you say PBY on the forum and hide a sticker in your Scout somewhere with 005977 (or whatever the final count is)

You could always get a white one and wrap it!
