Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
They are lucky if they don't have to halt production of all vehicles to fix this. Even more lucky if they don't have to shut down for good.

They will be lucky if "they don't have to shut down for good"? Where do you come up with this stuff???

Zero reason why sustaining wind damage to what appears to be part of a loading dock at one of many their campus buildings would cause an entire company to shutter. o_O

If that were the case, nobody would ever build a warehouse in the midwest in the first place. My lord...

You would be shocked to find out how these companies use insurance to their benefit. They could light the place on fire get a few billion and build a state of the art facility their. And still have money left.

Take a look at the ford aluminum plant. Non Arson report. And now they are building a new factory in Alabama. Hmm. Seems they needed money. Oh and Rivian they also need money, they are burning cash like a California forest fire burns trees and house.

For all the EV haters, septics, gas-4-life, “I don’t plug, I pump”, here you go. Nissan even built the diesels for the Scout IIs. So you can feel the connection.

I am just kidding around before anyone gets upset.

Maybe it’s my personal opinion but if it looks like that I’m worried nobody will buy it. I think that thing is terrible looking

I actually kinda dig it. It wouldn't age well if it looks like that in the end, but it's funky and different right now.
The front grill just seems all out of proportion. Rest of body lines and even the color are nice. I’m just surprised they did such a great job on one Z and this front end just feels disproportionate

My wife actually likes it so maybe it’s just some of the odd openings and big oversized width amber lights that throw me. I do like that the entry handles appear to step at the rear as image to the theater style stepped up seating of the originals

Yea, I think it's odd for sure. I did note recently and hadn't noticed it until the recent teaser images came out, but Nissan has been doing the 3 slots/lights at the top of the grill for a while now. The Frontier and Armada both have them. I believe the Pathfinder has them as well. So kinda neat that it's a throw-back element as well as a modern family design language element.

Having to repair four bays of a loading dock better not shutter a company with $6B in cash reserves and insurance. This will likely not even significantly impact parts-deliveries to the company. From what I can tell, that building has 32 loading bays along that wall. If this dock was operating at full capacity (doesn’t appear to be), it would be slowed by 12.5%. Since it’s probably not operating at full capacity, it’ll likely be slowed by less than 5%. It’ll take a few days to rope off and seal off the damaged area and get back to accepting deliveries at the other bays.

I though International built their own diesel’s.
Not for the Scout. Nissan SD33 and the turbo SD33T for the 1980 models. Interestingly, some international harvester compact tractors came with small Nissan diesels. However, most were Mitsubishi. Some even came with a Mazda gasoline engine. Only the larger tractors, about 40hp and up got International diesels.

Judging from the lack of accessories, I bet that is a render. I would not expect the Traveler to be that color (white) in the April/May 2026 events.
Why? I’m curious what color you expect.

I have no idea how to predict what color they choose for upcoming events other than statements that essentially say the vehicles are being repainted, which lead me to guess not the same color as they’ve been painted before.

I was not trying to predict what color it would be. I was pointing out that the image shown looked like a render, not a picture of the actual Traveler.
