From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. I was also thinking it might be cool to have a Reservation-only color, but one that can be applied to any trim/package level (I thought the R2 only had the Launch Green on the Premium & Performance levels, but looks like it is available on Standard). Or if not a full color, a badge or graphic that can be applied at the factory.
Set a cut-off date related to a milestone, and give the early (& semi-early like me, lol) reservation holders a little bonus. Even if you have to wait for a less-premium configuration, if you made a reservation & convert it to a purchase, you get the flair.

And then the launch edition can have a special badge or something else. The question I have is, I know launch editions can be limited in number, do we think SM will do that? Does Rivian do that?
You almost have too. If you demand more money that is for privilege of getting something unique and limited. Don’t Ford or someone do that where there was SO much interest they produced more. That would piss me off. Because imagine PBY becomes a color choice but Coral reef pink is offered as 1st year/launch so you get the unique color then they double production. Now the PBY would likely be a rarer color for year one but your stuck with 1000 pink scouts ILO 388 PBY. Just my take on it though. Maybe other feel differently
Makes sense. If they do limit it how do they decide who gets one. Is it first come first serve so to speak, a lottery, how does that work?
Presume based on reservation and then you are offered opportunity. If what you want to build is available and you sign and deposit-you get one. If you aren’t ready because the shag carpet floor and velour seats are not ready then they move to the next person. You get 24 hours +/- to commit or they also move on
It’s a really good question given that they are launching two models and four vehicles and they will be releasing over a span of time. It will be interesting to see how Scout decides to go about launch auditions and all reservations turned purchases.
I was just rewatching some you tube videos and the blue Terra in the Jay Leno one is AMAZING! It’s kinda a matte or satin bluish grey, but I love it!!!
