Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
See this was already posted. CNBC picked up the article today. 700 miles!
And the Nissan XTerra will be back in '27, and possibly in an EREV drivetrain . I was really pissed when they discontinued it after I had to scrap my 2012(?) after a large deer encounter. That is very attractive to me, but they have to make it first.

We really enjoyed our Xterra, but I’m all in on the Scout. She has my heart. I’m done looking, the Traveler is my next baby.

The XTerra was one of the few actual SUV's around for a while, and was really interesting in its time.

Nissan has had a ROUGH go of things lately. But if they nail this, they might stabilize a bit more. You never know. Apparently the new leaf is pretty decent though, so its a good sign.

As a mechanic, I rarely saw major issues with Nissans that weren't caused by outright neglect, like going 12k miles without changing the oil or busting the oil pan on curbs and running it dry.

They just had a cheap fit and finish that I didnt like, and had small issues that added up like window regulators that failed every 60k miles or other weird electrical gremlins with their radios.

Overall they are solid little vehicles if you took care of them.

Under normal use it will run out of fuel first before running out of battery. So you can gas and go. For many smaller towing needs (boats, flatbed race car trailer, overland tent trailer) the Terra Harvester may be fine for your use. You might have to drive slower in some conditions to conserve energy. But if you need to haul heavy loads, large campers and more you should buy a medium or heavy duty truck. Most half ton EV trucks just aren’t there yet for long distance big hauls and therefore aren’t the best tool for the job. We will get there as technology improves.
Ahh, a Terra Harvester HD. ;) Yessss

That’s the big question. If they nail it. It needs to have that roof line that’s nothing other than an Xterra.

If they just make a regular roofline it’s going to lose a lots of distinctiveness.

I was cleaning out a drawer a while ago and found this.

So we had a 2000 Xterra and they had a market adjustment back then!

I assume that the Xterra Roofline , and first aid kit bump will be required in the design.

Otherwise how would you even know it was an Xterra???

Also, MARKUPS!!!

Saw this post about new Ford EV pick-up. They are going to meg-casting. Insurance will be through the roofView attachment 13376
We had mine intrest in Fords small EV truck after the maverick and the lightning, and even though my F150 isn’t going anywhere I’ve never been big on ford, but this just added one more notch in the Prius column for my partner. Though it was interesting to see the repair on J.R.Es cyber truck

I don’t think I realized the battery difference between the Ram and Scout. 62kWh vs 93kWh, and both do the same range on a full charge. Is the Ram just significantly heavier and that’s why? I would expect all things being similar the Ram would be capable of more like 200 miles on that charge.
It does seem off for one or the other…
