How would you build your Scout?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
That’s a good looking car. One of those I like but at 6’8” could never stuff myself into.

Other than the Dodge Challenger we had for a while, I’ve never found a sports car/muscle car I could fit in comfortably. I just might be destined to be a truck/large suv guy.
I have always heard the new Corvettes work for tall people but don’t know about 6’8”. I saw an article the other day Shaq got a custom built one so he could fit.

Im going to get a scout... But these are city slickers. The vehicles have a lot of nonsense... Lala land crap . That will only jack up the price. . .. cool dudes. Farmers don't care about cool bs. Offroading is a fun word to some.. a reality of daily life to others. I can tell by the tattoo arm designer and the beardo... Not farmers. Not threading the needle. This beautiful.. nonsense... Is not a family farmers dream. Corporate farmers hogwash. Family farming dies.. colors are a 14 year old market. Wow.. green. Pay $$$ for green. Show us a family farm starter truck. Not grifting. Now days you pay to have options.. pay to say no.. don't give me that bs. I have to pay to say no to options because options are lies. I'm forced to play the game. 🎮
Dude-are you high? What is all this gibberish? Do you drunk-forum instead of drunk texting? This makes absolutely NO sense!

Farm truck in need..

I'm drinking a fine pilsner.. ok

City's are formed around vehicle not people. Walkers struggle to get 5 blocks, around interstates. 10 fast food shops between his apartment and the grocery store. Morbidly obesity source. A long walk for a city slickers.

Only a good truck can save the country. The truck is the key 🗝️.

You sure it’s not shrooms?

Man is that a nice looking car!
Thanks we love her. Shortly after we got her they had shut a road down for construction so we took her over there so he could take pictures. He had always wanted a Supra. Her name is Thunder. 😹

I really like this picture too!

Silver compliments this car very nicely. It's amazing how much body lines can shift the presentation of a color.

I think it’s the best color honestly. And my husband is not a fan of silver generally so I was shocked when he liked it. She was in the showroom and I knew we were buying it when he asked to see her in the sun. 😹. They opened up those door and drove her out onto the lot real quick.

Okay now that I have seen them in person, I decided to revisit my thought experiment and see what’s changed.

Traveler for sure. I am not a truck person.

Yellow, but it has to be the right yellow. There were quite a few yellow vintage Scouts there that day and it’s amazing how different the color can be from yellow to yellow. No highlighter yellow, no orangey yellow.

I really like the charcoal grey roof that’s on the Traveler. Having seen the transition from body color to roof color with that dark windows and the black molding piece, at this point I prefer the dark charcoal.

I really like the wheels on the green concept that was posted a while ago. Of the three designs I have seen so far that one is my favorite.

I am not sure now if I want colored brake calipers. I’m hoping at some point they show some color options. I would like to see red, orange and blue brake calipers.

Same for the tow hooks. Would like to see different color options. Red, orange and blue tow hooks.

35s. I know, I know, range but I have always wanted them.

That tan/grey interior in the Traveler is beautiful. Just like that. It’s the prettiest tan I have ever seen in a car and I have had multiple vehicles with tan interior.

I really liked the doors in the traveler with that fabric. I don’t know how it will hold up versus the hemp but I preferred that over the hemp.

Dark flooring with rubber floor mats. SM please don’t make tan flooring. Had that in a few cars. Gets too dirty.

Glass roof for sure.

Rock sliders. Saw some vintage this weekend with a big step. No thanks. Not my cup of tea.

After seeing the bench seat and the regular bucket seats, I’m buckets all the way. Love that console in the middle. Definitely want that.

Loved the Rallye stripes. I’m 95% sure I want those.

After seeing the roof rack I’m sure I don’t want that. Don’t want to worry about height and I want the glass roof to be a completely unobstructed view of the sky.

I do like the brush guard on the bumper but I would need to see it in person. I don’t really need it and if it gets in the way of getting to the frunk then I would not get one.

Have to do my research on air suspension. Not sure on that yet.

And the big question still is to harvester or not to harvester. My husband is 100% harvester and all these articles lately about how EREVs are the new thing aren’t helping.

Okay this is where I am as of now. It will be interesting to see what we all change or stick with after we all get to see them in person.

Again, if they are anywhere even remotely close to you, go see them. You won’t regret it!!
Figured I would revisit this having seen the Traveler again a few weeks ago.

I’m am 110% Traveler. That won’t change so I probably don’t even need to mention it again.

PBY. That’s it. That hasn’t changed.

Now roof color. Having seen the black I like that too. Roof color I’m just going to have to see it before I decide on that. I just know I don’t want the roof to be body color.

The current wheels on the Traveler have moved to the top of the list for me. With those wheels colored brake calipers are not possible and that’s okay. I’m liking the aero wheels. So different than anything I have ever had. I really hope they keep the coordinates of the factory on them in production.

The original Traveler interior is still my favorite. Just where the fabric is on the doors I would like a wood trim.

Flooring no change since Nats. As lovely as those floor mats in the Traveler are that’s not practical, especially in snow. So black flooring and black rubber mats.

Glass roof and rock sliders.

Still the console. I love it. It’s beautiful. Bench seat is really cool but not me.

I want some sort of a stripe I think. I just need to see the options on that. I’m hopeful they have more than one.

Roof rails are really nice. No rack still for sure. So it’s either rails or nothing at all. I’m hoping I can see one in person without rails or a rack.

With PBY I would love SM blue or orange tow hooks. I think that would be amazing.

I have switched my reservation to the BEV.

I have changed from I must have 35s to now I must have 33s with an offroad tire. I love the K03s that are on right now. And for me the smaller tire isn’t just range. 35s make her so tall. I was fortunate enough in Chicago to be allowed to sit in the frunk. First of all figuring out how to climb in. She’s a multimillion dollar concept and I didn’t dare hurt anything. So I tried to climb up there gracefully, not. Then sitting there my feet didn’t come close to reaching the ground. Then as I was sitting there I was thinking oh no I have to get down. I did and it was uneventful thankfully but she’s tall on 35s with that current setup. 33s are more than sufficient for me.

So that’s where I am today after having seen the Traveler twice. I’m sure I will narrow things down ever further when I see her again. Jamie said they are coming to Chicago again and I already can’t wait!

PBY-that’s new! What does that stand for 🤣. No need to tell me. How much room below your feet? Wondering if you feel they would touch the ground with 33’s? Guessing not but just wondered if you noticed.

I don’t even think they would touch with 33s but it just depends. SM hasn’t stated how much of a difference there is between the “offroad setup” it’s currently on versus whatever the “stock” setup is.

Like I couldn’t touch my toe to the ground while I was sitting. I had to slowly slide down till I could get my foot on the ground.

Having seen it I’m guessing it’s a 2” “lift” or whatever they done to raise it

Since the wrangler is Rain, what will be your new baby’s name?

Sorry if I missed this in previous posts…
