Ideas for the revamps and the Travelers Sister!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scoutsā„¢. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
And I thought that the large knobby tires and rear tire carrier was more of an off-roading package. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. Maybe not.
Seeing it in person I would agree it’s more off road. The 22ā€ wheels do give it more of a street vibe but I really think street is a smaller all season tire. However, I would totally take it as is and only drive it on the street. 😹

I believe it has been said the standard tire would be a 33".
Although, If I can get it in the garage I really do want the rear tire carrier. Hopefully a single option for that.

True, I guess it depends on perspective. I had it in my head that this was a more street oriented version mainly because of the 22 inch wheels. I wouldn’t be comfortable taking 22s off road for a few reasons. I assume they will swap the 35 inch tires for 33s as well. I say perspective because the KM3 is a very on-road friendly tire while still being capable and pretty durable off road. I felt like they were a tame tire, but I guess they could offer more of a street tire for those looking to increase range.
I agree, I love the rear tire carrier as well. Although I was hoping it would be standard so I don’t have to pay extra! :) Although, if they don’t offer a carrier that fits a 37 inch tire…my plan will change and maybe I’ll have to rely on the aftermarket.

Yes the 22" wheels are a problem with off-roading. As far as the carrier holding a 37" The following is what we current know.

It cut off the part of the post I wanted EVeryone to see. This is it.

As I understood when we talked at reveal the carrier will hold 33/35 as is. Then there was talk of an adjustment item-mechanical or possible extending add-on spacer that will handle 37’s but it was still being determined. The designer said they love the carrier ā€œbasketā€ and want it to be flexible for various tire sizes

Excellent! Thank you so much for this, somehow I never came across that information so I didn’t realize (or remember?…it’s been a long week at work. Yes I’m aware it’s Monday :ROFLMAO:). Anyway, thank you for this. I would really appreciate it if they end up making the production version able to accommodate different tire sizes.

@cyure I missed Jamie's post, what does getting a sister mean? Just the existing Traveler will be refreshed again, or that there will be a second Traveler concept vehicle as well?

I think for me, I'd like to see a version closer to the $60k base price. I'm sure if the current concepts were released as actual vehicles they would be near the top end of the trim level. I know they like to make them look as good as possible, but it would be nice to see how it would look in base spec and get an idea of the differences between the two.

I feel like it would be a solid roof, LR tires and no external accessories or air compressor in the frunk

Okay what do you all think? What do you want to see?

While I have a Terra reserved, what I would really like to see in the next Traveler they bring out for the shows is one without the tire carrier, so we can see what the back looks like without the carrier. I know that Scott mentioned they had a plan for this, but I want to see what it looks like.

Many voices in that choir.

I would love to see this as well. I have a Traveler reserved, and will likely not go with the tire carrier from a dimension convenience standpoint. Would be great to see how not having anything here impacts the feel of the ratios of the vehicle.

Agreed. Love that tire carrier and they keep making it more versatile
