Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I expect the Scout will be available with a full camera package and possibly even a panic button.
Yes. I think modern EV's come well-equipped with a ton of additional safety features (built right in). I'm guessing a lot of gas station surveillance doesn't always operate properly, and the help, well, not always helpful. If you leave your truck to charge at a DCFC, many sentry features (in my case "gear guard) allow remote access to the cameras through the app. You have automated recording. You can sound your alarm from the app. you can turn lights on around the truck remotely with lock and un-lock features. You can configure lights to stay on when locking or unlocking, etc. and you will most likely always have your smartphone with you too. This is a good point.

Given I live and spend time in areas that are fairly anti-EV's (mostly because they are anti-liberal) - I would not mind having a good set of cameras and cloud storage. Vandalism is probably my larger concern however.
Interesting - there are many conservatives where I live that also drive EV's. You could argue that owning an EV is more fiscally conservative in the long run (and better for the environment). You could be more energy independent by adding solar and charging at home. If you are an outdoorsperson that wants clean air, water etc. an EV is the best choice.

Hard to argue with this. And the violence problem is not a Liberal/Conservative issue, it’s a soul problem.

I don't know why Car Scoops thinks the vehicles we brought to LA Auto Show are closer to production examples. They are the same vehicles with different paint and new accessories.

I've seen the current production mockups, and most people would be hard-pressed to spot very many differences. But we haven't shown anything publicly.
Thanks Jamie for the clarification.

Wait.
I thought @J Alynn had one in his garage for a few weeks for testing?! ;)

BTW @Jamie@ScoutMotors and everyone-happy Thanksgiving

That particular brand or EVs from the 1900s-1930s?

They were more popular than internal combustion in the early 20th century. But lead-acid batteries weren’t conducive to longer-distances.

One of my low-on-the-list projects is that I want to hide my modern charger in a replica from the 1920s.
