  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
The video was very interesting. What I found funny is the fact that they made this documentary. Still don't like badging.
Yeah it's a long video but a fascinating view into another world. Having a company car in the UK was, for a very long time, a staple of a sales rep's comp plan. Those cars were often leased and it wasn't a one size fits all, it literally came down to specific options on the car. Why this all mattered to the reps in the documentary is the car and it's spec represented the rep's comp plan and status within the company.

These days the culture has shifted mostly away from company-provided leases in favor of stipends which reps then use to get whatever they want, or the reps work remote so it's not as important, but that documentary is peak UK company car culture.

I had a dealer take all the badging off my first new Tacoma purchase. Told them they could put it back on if they paid me $150/month for advertising space. They took off the badging.
I just used dental floss and alcohol.

Buying at a dealership was already and all day affair and I wouldnt want to wait for them to fiddle with that.

I know it’s a lot of choices for Scout to have, but I really do hope interior and exterior colors are not trim specific and we can really customize our scouts. That would be amazing.
I agree! Even a red exterior with black trim and accents. Then the white, red and grey ish interior would be sick! Or a royal or navy blue version of all of that

I agree. I don’t want all kind of badging and it would be nice if they had options for badging colors for the badging we do want.

There’s cars I see with the dealers name either a sticker or metal letters on the back of the car. That’s even worse. Absolutely not. I won’t even keep the dealer license plate frame on. That comes off as soon as I get home.

Also please don’t put a license plate bracket on the front of the car. Leave it off so we can choose to put it on our not. I still don’t have a front plate on the Supra. It’s in the car and it’s been 3 years. 😹

I've taken the plate bracket off at the dealership, breaking it in the process and leaving it with the finance officer.

Are front plates required in Il.?

Yes. We got the bracket that allows you to attach the plate to the tow attachment point on the Supra so you don’t have to drill into the front of the car but I don’t even want to do that. Look how pretty she is without it. This is from our cross country trip. Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Such a fun trip. 4500 miles out to California and back in the Supra.

I have only lived in two states and neither required front plates. I think a front plate really looks bad, except maybe on a pickup.

A lot of people fought having the license plate bracket installed on their Mustangs (and were successful). They then purchased a stick-on plate from…somewhere. It looked okay. I’m happy not to have to have a plate. The only front plate I ever liked was when I younger and dumber than I am now. It said, "ЯƎVO ƎVOM” and was attached to my Plymouth Laser.

No front holes for plates. Thats a cardinal sin in my opinion since PA doesn’t require front plates
