Layflat front bench

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Since there is a flat bench seat across the front it would be neat if you could fold if flat that touches the back seats like a bed so you can sleep in it.
Plus if the rear seat could recline flat like an old van.
I remember some old Puegot vehicles the front seats would recline after you removed headrests then they would fill voids and be totally sleepable for couple or more

We have a 1997 Japanese imported rhd van. The front seats will slide forward a little, then recline to lay all the way down. All we have to do is remove the headrests, and the shoulder portion of the front seats lines up perfect with the back seat. And then the back seats recline all the way flat, so it make 2 twin sized beds.

With the option in the scout for a bench front seat, then seems very doable. And since the scout seats will be power, have it on a one touch button, like the Pacifica does to move the front seats up and out of the way so you can access the 2nd row stow and go seat storage.

I can see a fitted sheet, that is slightly padded, to be stretched over the scouts flat seat configuration, to keep small items from falling in the cracks and to level out the slight undulations. Where the seat bolsters or seams are. Not required, but to really have the car camping experience, that is what I would do. Imagine laying there, looking through the panoramic roof at the stars slide by, while the battery keeps the cabin toasty, and the harvester reange extender gives you peace of mind that you wont be stranded the next morning to get home. And cooking pancakes and sausage on an electric griddle you can plug into your mobile kitchen setup in the frunk.

Exactly, be it a rest stop or down by a lake.
I’ve done a lot of sleeping bags on ground but the old joints are starting to feel the ground more. Laying flat staring out cabana roof yes please

I hope the bench functions similar.
