Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I’m curious to know if anyone has info on the height of the roof rack. Scout Motors dimensions list the Terra maximum height at 77.9”. I assume that’s with the the 35” tires. If we put 37” tires on that will add another 1” of overall height (78.9” or 79” as a round-up). Assuming 4” for the roof rack you have 83” overall height. This is EXACTLY the clearance going into my garage.
Shoot I didn’t measure the Terra at Nats. I did measure the Traveler and then the Traveler with the rack and yes I got 4 inches added for the rack.

Funny enough today I went and checked out Rivian’s new Miami Hub and seeing the R1S in person really confirms for me that I want the Traveler. Not to say the R1S is bad but the Traveler is just my cup of tea.

I test drove an R1S and having seen the Traveler in person it’s definitely my next car.

Considering industry standards on garage doors is 7’ and you have a little trim-83” is safe across the board so presuming they would try to keep it to that number. When we built 10 years ago (wow time goes fast) I did 8’ just to be safe and now I’m glad I did.

Funny you should mention 7’, I wasn’t aware of the standard. That 83” is to the bottom of the weather flap on the opening, so yes there is actually 7’ available. Still seems awful tight though.

This is why I’m not getting the roof rack. I don’t want to worry about fitting in garages/parking garages and honestly I like it better without.

I am excited to see the roof rails though.

@J Alynn can you measure how tall it is with the roof rails. Please and thank you?

Yes. I don't want a roof rack for all the reasons you listed. However, I think the roof rails will make it look more finished, and they tend to be much lower that a full blown rack. So yes someone please measure them.

And modern roof rails can be a 5-minute install/remove for one person compared with a much more complicated install/remove of the rack.
