Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
In the strongest way possible, I hope 37s become part of the plan.

Only 2 production vehicles I know of with 37s are the Bronco Raptor and (iirc) an optional package on the Raptor/Raptor R.

It’d be a big differentiator, and way more importantly, they look cool af!

Ford had to make expensive changes to its production line to accommodate the 37s. If the option is to have a very expensive upgrade to the production line or for a “prep” package where you go out and buy your own 37s and don’t have to make any changes to the vehicle, I’d suggest the latter.

Yeah. I would imagine that if these are carried through to production, even with a disclaimer, someone’s going to cause themselves an expensive bit of damage. You can’t protect everyone from themselves.
I think labeling them as running “boards” would be enough assuming there was another option on configurator that lists rock rails.

Interesting. I’d think that Scout could build from the ground up to accommodate them, since they’re starting from scratch.

Is there anywhere I can read about this? I thought I stayed up well on auto industry topics like this but apparently not.

They could, if they’ve already planned to include 37s, but if they hadn’t already planned for it, then they’d have to make changes now, which would be a costly set of change orders. And, even if they had the time to accommodate them, it would be a more expensive factory build, which distributes that cost across all the vehicles.

headliner with plaid somewhere in the seats as opposed to plaid in the headliner.
We are still working on trim and model lines.

Would be great to see some of those headliner materials be offered on the seats - I'd be all in for a textile alternative, esp. plaid. If I ran into Scott Keogh in a bar here in No. VA, I'd ask to show him my Volvo -

Excellent, thanks! Embarrassed I hadn’t found that myself.

Still a fan of plaid. I think SM should have their version of a Plaid model (like Tesla) but just literally do a plaid interior 🤣. Then give us (2) in your face plaid options. One lighter and one darker.

@CP1@scoutmotors said that he would meet us around back after we take delivery with an angle grinder and a sawzall for a 30-pack.

Yep - plaid in light theme and dark themed interiors. Alternatively, if take rate is projected to be low, do a neutral plaid on the seats/doors (like a warmer gray?) and offer with light and dark surrounds that would come with different color leather seats.

Others prefer dark interiors but I can't stand driving in a coffin. Gives me dark thoughts (no pun).

I do not want a dark interior. I’m in all black right now. I’m done with that. I just want dark carpet. The rest lighter.

Good idea. Pick a plaid color scheme that looks good with a dark gray leather and a lighter gray/beige/saddle color. Sounds good to me
