Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

That's a strange one. However, and I am not sure if this is production. But, Scout is currently showing the PRNDL on the right stalk. Not the Audio strangeness. But different.
Isn’t everything expensive to replace in a car these days? My goal is Scout will be so well built and have a good warranty that I won’t have to worry about repair costs for quite a while.

You are correct Sir. A good Long warranty is your friend. because if your not capable replace stalks or opening door panels to get at what needs changing the labor gets expensive quick.
I know it won’t happen but I wish they would have the same lifetime warranty my Wrangler has. That’s why it was so difficult for me to decide on a new car. It has to be so amazing that I have to have it because I’m giving up that warranty. I have a MOPAR lifetime warranty. At 95,000 miles my heater died and I got a new heater core, oil cooler and radiator for my $100 deductible. If the engine or transmission goes. Same thing $100. The plan is for her to stay in the family because that warranty is just too good. Makes sense why they got rid of it. No one wants to get rid of their car when they have that.

Good article about battery replacement cost.

Nice article. I know when I talk with people about my next vehicle being an EV the first thing that comes out of their mouth is "but these batteries are so expensive to replace". Even after I explain the long warranty in years & miles many are still sceptical. Some will never make the leap. Their loss!

Not to mention violating muscle memory.
I’m all for new improvements but I don’t get it. You want to change over for younger drivers great, but not many (though some) 16 year olds are buying new $60 K vehicles. Just hoping Scout keeps the two stalks that are in the prototypes

It sounds like they will be offering “Extended warranty plans”

Not sure what that means for factory warranties but this is all we can go off of for now.

Sweet, been wondering about this. 4/48 comprehensive is pretty solid. I’d always like to see 5/60 on a new model from a new company, but this is nothing to sneeze at.

I’ll be very curious to see the extended warranty pricing. I took my Bronco’s comprehensive to 5/60 from 3/36 for 1500.

Wonder if “electric drivetrain” includes the lockers, since they’re built into the drive units? Would kind of suck if not, unless they’re easy to replace like traditional diffs.

They should change the seven year warranty to be powertrain warranty, not “electric drivetrain” warranty because it looks like it’s phrased like that so it doesn’t include your harvester engine if you get that as an option I guess, where other brands powertrain warranties for hybrids do include the gas part of the powertrain they don’t section off the gas motor and the electric motor as 2 separate things under different warranties they are always covered under the same powertrain warranty , I know it’s very early so they can always change this but they really should if that picture is correct

Two weeks ago Scout site said "drivetrain". Maybe already updated.
