3 Zone HVAC?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Has anyone heard of there will be true 3 Zone HVAC available? Or if they're considering adding vents in the B-Pillar for rear passengers?

I'm really hoping they up the game to make the back seat comfortable for adults and kiddos that sit back there. Independent temperature and fan speed is awesome when you passengers / family in tow.

I'm praying for a bench seat with good 3 Zone HVAC and fold flat seats for family duty and car camping / sleeping / picnics. I think the B-Pillar or overhead vents would be way better for camping too.

Assuming there will be rear heat/cool then oresumably both front passengers which would be 3-zone. Knowing how big the opening in the roof is and knowing there is a frame and structure at the corners/edges I’m still concerned it will be VERY tight to run ducting up at the roof level. It would be nice though because I’ve been in a few SUVs with the rear seat ceiling vents and it’s awesome. Just not keeping my hopes up so best case I’m surprised if they do it

Yeah, I kinda figured with the cabana roof they wouldn't do ceiling vents like the Big 3 or Toyota do in their larger vehicles. I got to ride in a BMW SUV recently and they had the vents on the back of the B-piller so they were still elevated out of the console. I thought that was a pretty slick solution and I'd love to see it implemented here too.

From an engineering perspective, I wonder if it would be simpler to do the B-piller vents. That would prevent them having to redesign the vents to work on both the back of the console and the lower portion of the bench seats. Sort of a single solution for both trims instead.
