Top Must Features: Auto brake hold, rain sensing windshield wipers, Regen shifter and one petal Regen, roof bars agility, and wireless carplay

Looking forward to see the Scout! Some features I'd like to see:

1. Rain sensing wipers.
- I live in The Specific "Wet" Coast of British Columbia Canada and we love that feature. It also must have a sensitivity dial so you can adjust it because we get all types of rain.

2. Brake Auto Hold feature
- Whether your off roading behind someone on a hill slowly, stuck on brutal stop and go traffic or at a light, having the ability to press the brake once and then release it while it holds at any complete stop is sometimes the needed "brake" you were looking for. It's just a matter of pressing the gas and the brake hold will release.

3. Regenerative Brake Shifter Paddles and one peddle driving that can be turned to zero by the paddles.
- I understand this has been discussed but I own a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and it is the only vehicle I know that has long wide paddles behind the steering wheel to shift your regenerative braking sensitivity from B0 to B5. You can control your coast at flick of your fingers while turning (because the paddles are wide) and precede down hills to control your speed better. It's great! I rarely have to press my brake peddle when coasting down big hills since I can adjust how much resistance there is to the regenerative braking and gain KM/Miles. I can also turn it off to coast on the Hwy.

4. Roof bars that can switch from the roof to the box
- I under Rivian already does this, but as someone who works with construction and helps out my dad's farm, this simple feature allows you to tie things off that may be longer than the box or simply above the box, such as a kayak so you still have space underneath. It's genius. But keep the fully exposed glass roof on the truck.

5. Wireless android audio and apple carplay
- some cars still don't do this. It's dumb.

Not a clue yet on bars for the Scout, BUT the aftermarket also takes care of the bars. The key for Rivian was the attachment points being the same and the bars extending in the center to span the different widths between the roof and the bed. Not that it matters but lady Scout enthusiast here and I’m coming from a 12 year old Jeep Wrangler. We do have a 22 Toyota Supra but it’s an ICE and I have never driven a PHEV until recently as a rental car.

Brake hold sounds like a great feature and I can’t imagine it wouldn’t have rain sensing wipers. This isn’t a barebones vehicle. That seems pretty standard these days in vehicles in the Scouts price range.

I don’t know if you have checked out some of the videos that have been posted in the forum and that are on YouTube, but if you haven’t there are some really good ones from when it was at CES in January. Scout posted some and some car guys did too. Out of spec I think it was called but I may not be remembering correctly. There’s so much info on here.

It’s a lot of fun. Enjoy!!

Lol yeah I like having V8's in old trucks that are rust buckets because no one suspects it lol but not for this truck. Toys like a V8 cost to much, and the Scout I am hoping is reliable because it seems so practical. You get modern tech in an old school vibe. It's like the reverse of taking an old truck and putting a V8 in it. It's taking an old truck and re-making it more efficient but keeping a clean oldie.

It's a great feature for stop and go traffic. I commute 2-3 Hrs a day in traffic and my one car has it and my other vehicle does not. After being in traffic with the auto brake hold you realize how much nicer it is

One place hold is awesome... And yes, I know, its controversial and some people love it and others hate it, BUT driving a well-implemented and smooth HOLD feature with one-pedal is awesome. Why? You don't need to move your foot at all. You can literally just roll up to a stop and the vehicle will just stand still, then boom, you are off-the line and moving again with the green light or when a car starts moving in front of you - no "stickiness" no switching pedals and moving feet around. it is simple, smooth and an easier way to drive (if implemented well). I give props to Rivian for an excellent implementation of Hold with OPD.

Interesting! I am not sure how Rivian is but my MIT's Outlander PHEV sounds similar. No shuffling with the feet like you said and I can actively control the resistance to my one pedal driving with the paddles behind my steering wheel or just turn it off. My screen also had a gauge to tell me how much resistance is creating more miles / Km's when adjusting

Does Rivian have paddles to control one Petal controls?

No paddles - just different 3 different regen settings, however I rarely touch my regen settings.
I probably use different "drive modes" more than I adjust the regen directly.
Snow mode (for example) will reduce regen, as part of the config for that mode:
