Hey Lady Scouts!!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I don't know if all cars do this now for safety, but the horn should work even when the car is off. This saved my sister years ago when she was attacked while getting into her vehicle. She was able to lay on the horn to get people's attention. So all those little safety features like approach lights, an actual fob to unlock doors while I scan the area, and yes, only unlocks driver door. I live in a small town but this stuff happens everywhere, unfortunately.

Unfortunately and sorry your sister had to go through that. Thank god for that car horn. Also a panic button on the key fob.

That got me thinking, as the dad of a 20 year old young woman. What if-and the beginning sounds off- you could voice record a “safe word” that when you say it/scream it by the Scout and mic pics it up it sets off all the bells and whistles as a safety feature. Some random word that is unlikely to be said or maybe a short phrase. Then if someone grabs you or pins you you’d still have voice to alert vehicle. Even when off as part of a sentinel mode it could be utilized. Horn, flashers, alarms and headlights blinking etc…

Maybe even a 911 auto dial with location beacon of some kind. Maybe at that point the car sets a tracker beacon in your key fob so it starts tracking-like a find your phone app but in the key fob

That would be amazing. Great idea Dad!

Also just a FYi My daughter and I have a safe word that if she calls and says it or texts it I know something is terribly wrong and it’s time to call the police. So if you two don’t have one get one. It also can help in those scam situations where they use AI to clone a persons voice and call for bail money or something crazy like that.

And I like how in the Traveler the back of the seat is a dark plastic looking material. Little kids in car seats love to put their feet on the back of the seat. And even if you don’t have little kids that area always seems to get dirty somehow. Keep that part of the seat super easy to just wipe off.
As a dad to smaller kids I agree! My kids love putting their feet on the backs of seats, and their feet are always muddy somehow. This is a great idea, good observation!

An idea for promotional pictures. I love all the pictures outdoors and the kid peeking out of the sunroof. It would be great in the pictures if they would show a family camping with one of those off road jogging strollers in the back or if they have bikes on the back have one of those bike strollers that attaches to a bike in the back. Just to show how things like that fit. And kids have to stay in those booster seats longer so maybe a picture with a car seat and a booster seat.

I know when I bought my cars when my kids were little I never had any idea how it would look with the car seat in and how it would fit till I put it in when I was driving away from the dealer. I don’t remember seeing pictures like that.

And one other idea. This idea of a frunk is new to me and I’m not sure how much you can store. I typically see the size of the specs in cubic feet. Well how many grocery bags is that? How will a stroller fit? My mom uses a walker. Can I fit that in the frunk? Luggage?

When you purchase a Coach purse they have an animation where it shows you the inside of the purse and common items you would put in a purse. Wallet. Sunglasses. Phone. Headphones, etc. and you can click on the items and they move into the purse. That way you know if the bag is big enough for your needs. Something like that would be helpful.

They could include daily items as well as camping gear, fishing gear, hunting gear. If someone did want to put the spare in the back (I’m not starting that discussion again) but you could see if you did that how much room do you have left.

I love the idea of a virtual "packing" tool on the website pre-release. One thing that really annoys me about my Rav4 currently is I can't fit two bags of golf clubs in it without putting the backseats down. I'm hoping the Scout being bigger means I don't have to do that and can fit in either the frunk or behind the rear seats.

I know there's at least one EV that has a little embossed thing in the frunk that shows you what fits in it. The size in cubic feet or cubic litres isn't all that helpful, I agree. Since frunks tend to be just a little more hassle to get into than a trunk I usually keep stuff that's nice to have but that you don't need all the time. So for me since my frunk is super small I keep a level 1 charge cable and some adapters plus windshield fluid.

In the Scout I can see it fitting something like a cooler or tool box but I bet it would fit a decent sized stroller too. You probably wouldn't want ot put groceries in there since they tend to be perishable and you'd want to not keep them there too long but something that could live in the frunk like a stroller would be a good idea.

Ohh boy… please don’t make Scout into the ultimate soccer mom mobile that’s what Volvo is for 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I like the feedback though, since we do need Scouts to fit the middle ground. Something olds scouts sadly didn’t which also helped kill IH Scout.

But I do have to agree, as someone with beautiful locks and wears a hat, I hate when I put hat on backwards and then my head can’t sit against the rest properly.
Sheet man were i live there are some totally bad arse soccer moms that drive some very cool non Volvo rigs. Also there are millions of potential Scout buyer Moms out there that SM should try to appeal to.

My advice before you invaid the ladies chat here is run any comments like "Alfalfa and the he man woman haters club but for women" by your daughter or wife before you post.
For whatever it’s worth, there’s an established friendship here among this guy and myself and this guy and Cyure. He’s goofing. I appreciate you looking out for us, though. Thank you. 🥹 You can be an honorary lady. My friends and I would bestow this title to our male friends in high school, lol.

Okay I will give Cyure and J lynn potential misogynistic comments "get out of jail free cards" but no one else especially if they have that "manosphere" vibe. I do have cred with two daughters (one of which is special needs and really gets offended when dip sheets use the "R" word) plus two sisters.

Hey BartMan. Cyure here. It’s gotten confusing who is who I think, but I’m also a lady. Thank you for sticking up for us! Your daughters and sisters are lucky To have you!

Sorry senior moment. I get in a rush to often. Thanks for your kind words.
No worries! I very much appreciate the support and I’m sure the other women on the forum do as well.

When it comes right down to it we all just want to get the Scout of our dreams and for SM to be wildly successful! And have fun along the way. 😻

Having seen it in person I think you’ll be very pleased with the rear space. Somewhere I also saw the frunk will hold a cooler and a gold bag.
