Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I was never a believer in a 27 launch lol, but I figured late 28 maybe.

But, for me, I'm out, looks like in the next year there will be plenty of trucks I can grab in my price range, no need to wait years.

ooh. no. no. no.

Why make Happy Friday a Sad Friday... Well Boys we all moved up in the production line unless you're already #1 in line. I don't know if were supposed to thank you for your sacrifice? or to be sad to know that there are people dropping orders?

I hope everyone gets what they want and if they need something sooner, great. We will have to do what works best for us. However, Scott and the team at SM have never given me reason to doubt them so I’m still counting on a 2027 launch. Good luck to you!

No, Rivian is too much for me, and too small, but as Ram, Chevy, Ford, drop prices, I can probably get into a new truck in the next 18 months for under 60k and that's all that's really important to me.
I would probably choose Chevy out of those three but boy they seem to be having issues. Maybe the 2025s are better

This Brilliant Dodge Charger Daytona Feature Should Be On Every EV

When you turn the Charger off, a screen appears on the main driver-facing dashboard that not only tells you how much charge you have left, but how long it would take to charge to 100%—if that's where your charging limit is set. Not only that, it tells you approximately how long that would take on each plug type

It turns out the Charger isn't the only Stellantis EV to do this. The Jeep Wagoneer S, which shares the STLA Large platform with this car, apparently does the same thing when it's parked.

My Hyundai Ioniq 5 does this and so did my old ghetto-sled Leaf.

12/31/27 is still 2027! Hope it’s not quite that late. Though depending on timing if they are using the PowerCo batteries and timing is pretty close to operational plant in Canadia I’d be willing to wait a few months longer if it meant the BEV could extend to 400 miles or battery pack price comes down and I can save a few grand. Or I should say re-allocate funds for other Scout necessities 😀

Totally agree. Love to see the BEV go to 420. That's a good number in my book 😉

How do we know if Scout will be using PowerCo. With (insert word) Scout might decide to use Panasonic or LG Chem. LG might be a high chance considering that Rivian is going to use them in R2. And it’s possible that Scouts Zonal Architecture and OS is optimized for them LG at the moment until PowerCo is running at production speed.

12/31/27 is too late, if they start 1 minute too late then the model years will be screwed up.

Of the companies you mentioned who have the best chance to build a battery that will provide 420 mile range?

Lucid is using Panasonic and they achieved 450 EPA range which mean nothing but still. So Panasonic can do it, obviously remember that we have to remove a percentage for the drag Efficiency, tires, and weight.

I'll make my decision on whether to keep my reservation to mid '26. The extended range battery (though still a rumor) RAV4 PHEV should be fairly availible by then.
