What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. Yup. If you don’t have an on/off button, it just means you’re leaving the decision up to an algorithm. I prefer to have some say in the matter. If I want to sit in the car with the power off, or leave the power on when I get out of the car, that’s for me to decide. there have been issues with other cars, like Id.4, where the climate control/audio shuts off if the driver steps out of the car, because their algorithm didn’t take into account that there may be other people in the car.
That's a crazy feature. They must be trying to save every last ounce of battery energy. But, if people or pets are still in the car that is not a good idea. The car should be looking at the occupant sensors in the seats or the seat belt switches.
I mentioned it in another thread but when it comes to the tire carrier I would like it to be removeable. Store the carrier/tire in the garage when not needed, throw it on when I do. Having to deal with the bulk of a carrier/wheel on the back plus having to swing it out every time I need to access the trunk would be tedious on a daily driver.
I know others have said this but my daily driver is a 2013 Wrangler. It just doesn’t bother me and I’m keeping in mind that the Scouts have a large frunk. I would think I will be using that for items. I don’t see myself opening up the back on a daily basis.
I choose to leave it on and deal with any perceived inconvenience because I love the look.
A real cross iron for changing tires. Not that crap lug wrench. I want something that if i have to change the tires i can jump on it to break it loose and can jump on it to tighten. And they can even make a foldable cross iron if they want.
One thing I do not want is a gimmicky tailgate on the Terra. I know there are a bunch of options for pickup truck tailgates these days, but to me most of them look like something that will break when stressed. The Scout's are targeting off road enthusiasts, which (I hope) means a focus on durable design.
I swear to god if there are options for spoilers, goofy logo graphics that aren’t the Rallye stripes, illuminated sills, or any extraneous crap and there’s a cost for it, suck an egg. You give me the all-season floor mats and the cargo net for free as is my God-given right to demand of a car salesman.

I just want to be able to pick and choose. I don’t want to have to get a package with 10 things when I only want one thing in the package. Same! If Scout keeps up the most customizable vehicle thing it better be fully customizable not if I hit leather interior it adds on 20 different things and removes 4 other things. It should be pick and choose for everything.
No multi-function buttons, like those in the ID.4 where you have one button to toggle between “rear and front windows” and another two buttons to actually make either the left or right (front or back? No one knows!). It’s literally impossible to roll down or up the rear windows properly on the first try.
That’s pretty well hated by ID.4 owners, but I also had how turning on the side-view mirror heaters requires turning a knob through one of four potential functions - all somewhat unrelated to another.
I also couldn’t figure out how to turn on my window defroster for six months, and since it’s capacitive I often accidentally mess around with my lights instead of defogging the windows. It just wasn’t where I expected it to be.

Oh not laughing at all. I had a rental Volvo two weeks ago. Sitting in a dark rental car parking garage in a car with black interior it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to turn the thing on. Knob on the center console you twist to start and twist to stop. Just make things intuitive and don’t try and reinvent everything.
I have to admit that I like the multi-function tailgate on my sissy truck,Honda Ridgeline...
I like the interaction as @THil08 noted. SM has made a huge deal about touchable features and not all tech. It’s a 1/2 second to push start button and it engages my senses. I’m actually for keeping the button.
I’m all for full spare but I could see more urban/suburban buyers being OK with a donut or fix a flat. Maybe it’s an option that saves buyers a couple $100 bucks
If you get the standard 33's a full size 33 fits under the vehicle. 35's different story.
Fully understand but maintaining a 5th tire with rotations etc… those using them as local family haulers may not want the added weight or hassle of dealing with again-I want a spare but I haven’t had real spares on my last 4 vehicles and I’ve been fine so might be a solid option for a buying segment
BMW stopped giving spares, you have to request them when buying. I always recommend to people getting cars serviced that ask for them to buy an expanding spare to save space. And to always have it just in case. But it’s cheaper than buying from the dealership. Even though all BMWs are equipped with run flats usually Pirelli.
My last vehicle, not current one came with an electric air pump that you could use when needed to top off the tires. If you had a flat you turned a dial on the pump and it dispense that fix-a-flat tire sealant and pumped the tire up to whatever you had dialed in. Never used the sealant but the pump was very handy. They made a foam carrier that went under the deck in the back where the spare tire would have been to store the pump. The first car I have ever had that did not have a spare.
