  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Hello all! I’m just now catching up on the community here. This may be posted in the wrong spot. But “WishList” sounds on point.

First, we love the electric steps as well, we have them after-market on the Jeep. We love almost all of the “modern car” stuff that’s on our Jeep, like auto- brights and heated-cooled seats and so forth.

We drive off-road, trails and on the beach (plus the mud and snow). There are some specific things that make off-roading easier. If they’re not for everybody, maybe they could be options.

- A built in bank of “AUX” switches to later add and control accessory lights and other stuff.

- A strong air compressor, for tires and other stuff, with easy to access connection points. Frankly I’d like to hook it to a power washer and rinse the whole truck off after a frolic in the dirt. And reverse it to vacuum out the interior.

- Portal axles” or similar technology to lift the vehicle 4” to 6” vertically. Maybe up to speeds of 35mph or so. I suspect that the vehicle won’t accommodate larger tires, so extra lift from the system is the next best thing. The air suspension lift in Audi and Porsche models is inadequate.

-A front bumper and suspension adjustments that can accommodate a winch.

- An optional full sized spare tire with a stowage spot.

- Dirty” storage that can be hosed out after mud and pets.

- We carry electric bikes, which weigh a ton. We dream of a “ride-on, ride off” bike rack which powers up and down from ground level. My back wants this badly.

Thanks for reading, just some wishlist thoughts.

In some of the videos we have seen so far there are a set of Aux switched on the left side of the steering wheel on the dash. They look pretty sweet too.
Screenshot 2025-03-31 at 15.43.20.png

They are also offering a factory winch, so two wishes granted!

I think you'll be leaning into the aftermarket for some of the other items.

74 Weld seams to be leading the US industry for portal axle bolt on kits.

Be ready to shell out around $20k for that one though 🤑

We also ride heavy e-bikes and you bring up a great point. Maybe they will give us a "Kneeling" setting with the air suspension that dumps the rear bags and pumps up the front when the vehicle is parked to make loading and unloading things out back easier.

Hello and welcome! Some of this stuff, like the AUX switches, air compressor (though I don’t know if it will have the power you want), and the full-size spare (rear carrier), is confirmed in some form. Other stuff is also coming in some form or another, like winches and lifts. I love your bike rack idea: I don’t think I’ve heard that, but it would be pretty cool. I have a normal mountain bike (that I never use) and wouldn’t mind a setup like that (which I would use). I love the power washer idea/reverse for vacuum concept, too. I am a city person, I know nothing about nothing and don’t know if that’s a thing that exists or if that’s a piece of in the sky thing, like for all I know cows and chickens are the same plants. What the hell do I know?

Why does everyone want an air compressor built into the vehicle? I have seen the request for an air compressor a couple of times, and it confuses me.

There are small portable air compressors that run off an internal battery that seem like they are a lot more useful than having a compressor built into a truck. I own a couple of battery powered air compressors, one with the spare in my car and one with the tire repair kit for my motorcycle. Both work great for inflating tires (like my trailer tires, which I always forget to check before loading up) and other stuff (like pool floats). I also have a 12V compressor that I owned for years that worked fine for inflating my tires. I only replaced it with a battery compressor because the battery compressor was a gift and is easier to use.

To me, the advantages of the battery compressors over a built in compressor are:
  • Cheaper than a built in unit
  • Easier to use.
    • instead of pulling a hose around, you take the compressor to the tire/thing that needs to be inflated.
    • They are programmable, so you can set a desired air pressure and they will stop when pressure is reached.
  • More functional. All the versions I have include a flashlight and a USB port for portable charging other devices, so you can use them as a portable backup battery for electronics (when away from the vehicle). They also charge via USB, so you can charge them right in the vehicle.
If you are airing down your tires for off-roading and need a way to add air when you are finished, it seems like it would be a lot faster and less hassle to just buy 4 cheap battery air compressors and inflate all four tires at the same time.

Im not sure how much offroading you actually do, but I have never seen someone using 4 cheap battery air compressors to air up on a trail.

For one, they do not have the ability to air up 35"+ tires since cheap compressors arent rated for 100% duty cycles, lack the required volume, and will overheat or melt by the time you are at 25psi. And if they can, they wont be doing it very long.

On board air compressors tend to be more robust, larger, and heavier than dinky handheld ones. They are built to last and make it through the bumper to bumper warranty and designed with the correct duty cycle rating and inflation capability for the tires the manufacturer will offer. Cheap compressors are designed to live long enough to exceed Amazons 90 day return window.

Other advantages to OBA are more space freed up for other gear. All you need to store is the hose. If they are inside the cab they will last longer since they are drawing filter air from the cabin.

Another battery to remember to keep charged isnt really as foolproof as one thats got constant power. Let alone 4 of them.

Battery operated compressors have their place, but this aint it. They stay in my panniers on my e-bike and adventure motorcycle.

You are swimming upstream with this one man.

On almost every truck I've had, I've installed an air compressor and often an air tank. I haven't gotten around to it yet with my Lightning, but eventually I'll do so. Just need to find the time.

I want to kit bash an RX-78 Gundam with one of those Ertl/AMT Scout models and don’t you dare tell me that won’t be awesome and also don’t you dare come at me saying that UC Gundam is not the only Gundam timeline worth a worth, but The Witch from Mercury was pretty good. I would also be fine with a Scout in 08th M.S. Team livery.
