what's this in bed of Terra

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
My only issue is weather or not it will work with the hundreds of companies and thousands of products that are currently using the mollie style spacing. Innovation and unique styling is great - but innovation simply to lock you into one brand of product is not so great.

Related, but not quite the same, is roof racks and bars. I see plenty of posts of people wanting the Scout to be made with a factory roof rack. I already have my personal roof rack preferences - and quite honestly, I have never seen a factory roof rack that would be my choice for my hobbies. Most are useless junk that would simply be in the way - they are only designed to keep bags strapped on the roof from sliding around - the few that are load bearing, rarely are rated at a useful load (perhaps it is a lawyer thing). And as mentioned before, the chances of putting aftermarket accessories on a factory rack are slim, because you are limited to probably the accessories the car company decides to bless its customers with. But what is really annoying to me is vehicles that were designed with NO thought on how such a common aftermarket product could be thoughtfully attached. In those cases, you can cross your fingers and hope for aftermarket help - or simply rebuild the vehicles roof.

So I'll admit when I'm thinking wrong. I wanted storage in the bed and/or frunk so that I could do away with a tool box. I didn't want things rolling around in the frunk. I would rather see them in a compartment so they didn't roll around. Seeing the talk of this Molley system, something I'm not use to, got me thinkng/Googling it more. Its more than just a place to strap an Axe too. This system was the answer all along. Purchase pouches that fit your storage needs and have them strapped in and secured on the sides of either the frunk or the bed. I'm now imagining a Molley system strapped in on the bed side, close to the tailgate that is easily accessible when dropping the tailgate. I just had to get out of thinking the conventional way!

Great eye. Missed those ?
@J Alynn do you remember seeing a suitcase at their accessories display table? I'm pretty sure they had a Scout logoed suitcase with wheels on it. Again my dang phone was worn out by that time and I didn't get any pictures. I'm guessing the suitcase connects to this molle rail system as well??? Might be another way for storing toolbox type items. Curious if you had a picture of it?

I got down early to the studio and took pictures of everything they had out-unless I somehow missed it. This is only thing I saw in my stash of photos that I hadn’t shared yet that would be part of the SM molle like products

That was it. I remember it on that table. The picture doesn't show it, but I'm pretty sure it had a nice Scout logo on the face of it. I'd be all over traveling with that! Love sporting brand logos I like.
Yeah bi agree. I remember that table was covered with Polaroids so I thought it was a travel prop and completely missed it being custom. That would be super cool to have it latch on their mounting system. Sign me up for one ?

That travel case was designed to fit under the rear bench in the Terra.
