What will you typical cargo look like in your Scout?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Yes sir. Its probably what I'm gonna take down to pick up my scout and then I'll tow her back.

From me to Blythewood its 678 miles. So I'll probably have to fill up 6-8 times. I'll break the trip up into 10 days. I'll bring it to a few car shows on the way there.
Very nice. Its 578 miles from us.

Occasionally - golf clubs, camp chairs, large dog crate. Permanent cargo - portable compressor if there's not one baked into the vehicle, tire plug kit, small tool bag.

Looking forward to Frunk space, typically it's a backpack, gym bag, and lunchbox. I like the idea of putting all this in the frunk, especially in the warmer months where my clothes ferment after sitting in the car all day after a morning workout.

I can’t wait to have a frunk. First aid kit, reusable shopping bag, cooler bag, umbrellas, all that stuff that’s just rattling around in the back loose will have a place to go.

Oh yes, even better if it can fit a 12-can capacity mini fridge for Dr. Pepper.

Probably

something like this! It will be my retirement ride!

Not all the PA folks. I had my TLX type S up to 128mph. But I mostly agree with you nevertheless
The NJ plates were the ones I saw pulled over when I drove through on a busy June weekend last year. The Turnpike is full of maniacs. I’m not sure if I’m impressed that nobody is afraid of the police or if I’m horrified.

Common: Kids, gear for kids, camping gear, ski trip gear, biking gear, Costco runs
Less common: Towing U-Haul trailers with big bulky stuff for home projects or one of our classic cars

today I got a bunch of 8 foot 2x4s and it is very nice being able to fit them in the Flex easily. I have found I can even get 10 foot ones in if I lay down the front passenger seat and angle them. Definitely want to be able to do that in the Scout!
I think the new Scouts are big enough as they are. I have brought home 20ft 2x8s atop my Scout 80, carefully tied to a rack from Sears. And 12footers in a pickup's 5.5ft bed with a little creative rope work. No, not at highway speeds, but that's rarely necessary on trips to the lumber yard. The SM Scouts cannot be all things to all people and all tasks, the job calls for a pickup. If the boards must lie flat, then buy or borrow one of the rare Toyota Tundras that has an 8ft bed. There exist older used pickups with 8ft beds too, but pretty rare, as well.
