What’s your hobby

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Thankfully I already have Hawaii and Alaska ticked off my list. I basically need to drive on the edge of ND/SC and go into MN and then drive straight down to LA (dipping into OK on the way down), turn right to go through MS and AL and then come straight back up towards home in PA and I'll be done!
What is everyone’s rule on visiting all the states? Is it a cross the state line and check the box, is it spend a day? Spend a night? Layover at the airport? I’ve had this sad inter monologue for a long time and wonder what counts. Recently I feel it’s a spend the night and see a local “thing” or have a local meal at a minimum. And plan to be there intentionally-not because an airline sucked at doing its job 🤣

Mine is out of an airport so not a layover, and actually setting foot on the ground rather than just driving through. I haven't spent a night in every state but I've spent at least a little time in each state on the ground, and I think, but not 100% certain, that I've ate a meal in every state I've been in.

My grandma taught me to knit and crochet when I was 5. I make blankets and if I know you long enough eventually you get a blanket. I try and ask people their favorite colors. One of my friends her favorite color is orange. That one was difficult, they don’t have a lot of options for orange yarn. Here’s a couple I had made. That red one turned out prettier than I thought it would.

Once upon a time, I would have said golf and surfing. I started golfing when I was 5. Played for my high school and my college. Grew up bodyboarding and then took up surfing in college. For a long time, I would get at least one of those activities in weekly.

The reality these days is different. Kids, the house, and work keep me busy. I'm 43 and I've only played golf once in the last 4 years. Made a point of it though and got to play with my dad on what will probably be his last round ever (it was a year ago and he hasn't played since). I only surfed once this summer and it was short lived as my leash snapped and I had to swim to the beach to retrieve my board.

Hopefully I'll get back in to either as the kids are getting older, though neither has any current interest in either.

So some of us draw and someone on here does the laser cut wood cars on flags but if you have a hobby take a minute and share it. Maybe you make bird houses or make electronic collages of your favorite 80’s tv personalities or you bake @special” brownies or do taxidermy with rabbits and squirrels. If the scouts will enhance your hobby tell us why and show off your work. Maybe Scout will be so impressed by someone they decide to write an article about it. Or maybe the y can vote on their favorite 3 and send a little “somethin” -“somethin” your way.
Fishing and classic car restorations. Two really fun hobbies, both empty the bank like no one would believe… Scout motors, send me money please! lol.

You deep sea fishing? Fishing isn’t that bad after all few lures and a reasonable rod/reel. But then again in an hour I can hit 20 locations on the Susquehanna River and wade in to my knees. I keep saying I need to find time. Maybe this hobby page will connect local members to get out and actually find time for their hobbies. And anyone in Central PA/DE/northern Maryland I LOVE boating if you want to meet up in our Scouts and take me boating 🤣

Im a mixed fisherman. I do lakes, streams, rivers. And them i also do inlets, nearshore fishing. I usually that my friend that owns the marinas boat out, which happens to be a Scout.

i grew up fishing every weekend pre teen and younger teen years and I NEVER bought the story about bad day fishing better than work. Now, like others-I wish I had time to fish because just wading in the water casting is WAY better than work 🤣
All my neighbors use that saying... I think they have a lot more money than I do - cause the gas for the boat makes me think buying the fish is way cheaper!

I had been using the "stop and see something and take pictures", I guess a meal probably as well but now I'm not sure I had a meal at all of my stops... hmmm...

Wow - talent!

Everyone else seems to have so much more talent than I do! Time to learn for me...

Great idea! Anyone near the thumb in Michigan wanna teach me how to fish better - I'm all for it!

Oh stop. Everyone has something. Even if it’s not something you can show a picture of. I have a talent that I can literally talk to anyone. Strike up a conversation with a stranger, no problem. That’s a talent.

So what’s your talent?

Other than the work I did - not much since retirement... I am getting better with the smoker (although my wife has had her fill of pretty much smoked everything. :). )
