Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

We created a poll recently and there seems to be a lot of interest in a Visualizer Tool to play with various features, options, colors, materials, etc.

It would be awesome of your team could get one setup on the website to give people a chance to build and configure their Scout, and save it to their profile so your team can look at the data on popular choices and selections.

It would keep folks entertained while they wait for the launch and help determine demand for various tentative options and combinations.

Most of us understand that not all colors, options, and accessories will be available at launch, but I am sure your team would expressly convey to people using the tool that nothing is finalized and everything is subject to change.

Maybe you could start by inviting reservation holders from the Scout Community Forum first so they can provide feedback and find bugs, and gradually invite other Reservation holders to use it.

Thank you for all yall do.

Cheers

Hope they get it our before Rivian R2s are on the road.

Scout may lose sales if things are stagnant.

2027 feels like an eternity away for a lot of people.
I agree. They will need to do something to make people decide to wait another year if they are ready for a new car now. I was in that boat when I bought my Rivian, and going in weekly to look at the configuration did give me a connection to my car that I didn’t have yet. On top that, getting an idea of exactly what options are available will really help.

All fair points. Hope Scout is listening

This is fair but the traveler is bigger than the R2, no? And isn’t it going to appeal more to a larger SUV crowd, and the Terra is full size pickup, a very different vehicle class but the only alternatives (in the full size class) are from GM and Tesla (excluding the used market)

Yes Traveler is bigger than the R2. Having seen it twice it definitely presents as a full size SUV.

I think the biggest problem with delaying a release is moving goal posts. When announced, nothing really compared to what Scout was presenting. If the Scout is released on schedule, it will probably still be in that leadership position. But since its announcements, other companies are gradually starting to announce their competition to it. The longer it takes to get to market, the more competition will be announced, and possibly released. If the delay is too long, tech will change and the Scout will have to adopt or come out of the starting blocks behind the pack.

And that’s a familiar story…

Good morning. Have I missed something? I haven’t heard anything about Scout being delayed. As far as I am aware they are continuing at pace and there’s lots happening behind the scenes that we just aren’t privy to yet.

I don't see too much competition entering. Jeeps Recon isn't a competitor, they are the failure of a brand that is trying to stay alive. Rivian is in the Luxury Market, not the Workhorse Market. And Bronco is in the Off Roader Market. And Scout is in the Work Horse Market with their own classification of a RUV (Rugged Utility Vehicle).

And with the software backing from Rivian Tech won't be outdated. When you plan for a vehicle to be released in a certain year, you normally plan to have the top technology coming out that year.

BMW has been working on IX3 2027 since 2022. Just for reference on how companies plan for technology.

Size isn't the only consideration.

Price is a big one, and they will be competing in the sub-premium EV SUV price bracket.
