Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

We created a poll recently and there seems to be a lot of interest in a Visualizer Tool to play with various features, options, colors, materials, etc.

It would be awesome of your team could get one setup on the website to give people a chance to build and configure their Scout, and save it to their profile so your team can look at the data on popular choices and selections.

It would keep folks entertained while they wait for the launch and help determine demand for various tentative options and combinations.

Most of us understand that not all colors, options, and accessories will be available at launch, but I am sure your team would expressly convey to people using the tool that nothing is finalized and everything is subject to change.

Maybe you could start by inviting reservation holders from the Scout Community Forum first so they can provide feedback and find bugs, and gradually invite other Reservation holders to use it.

Thank you for all yall do.

Cheers

Same. Every-time I want to buy something now I think oh do I really need that. I need Scout money.
I’ve gone to opposite side of shop therapy right now, I was taken out before Christmas too many different stores and told to pick something out within a pretty high price range. Everything I saw I picked up said “this would be cool“ then sat it down and walked away. I can’t even spend money that’s not mine. 😹

I was just thinking about this today. I only just made my reservation on New Year's Day, even though I've been following along for a few months, and would love to start tinkering with a build. That and more pictures/videos.

I don't know how some of you who have had reservations for years are managing the anticipation. Hahaha
I question that everyday 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

For me the anticipation is the only thing keeping me motivated to save my money, I have a bad tendency to fall into “shop therapy”
Good point. A year ago I started a Scout rainy day fund and it’s now just shy of $7000 because I wanted the Scout watch and my loving financial advisor told me I had to pay for half and rest was Xmas gift. My wife and I share all money in shared accounts so this is my first stand alone “account” in 25 years. I’ve been quite proud of the odds and ends jobs I’ve done this past year or so to put aside. Goal is $10K but damn. Standing on the corner in December in a mini skirt is COLD!!!

Wow. I can't get that image out of my head...........🤣

The hype is waning for me, but the interest is still there.

I hadn’t thought of it that way but I think I agree. I know I want a scout but the hype-for now has waned. After 3 years on here there isn’t much I haven’t heard or seen so short of new visuals from Scout and the hopes of the next batch of prototype refreshers making it to within 4 hours of me, there isn’t much that excites me. Having ignored a few people recently helped reduce my forum excitement in a good way. But I try to stay on because I enjoy the interaction with the members and playing catch up on here after a few days away is very time consuming

I was thinking about this recently. When I got my Rivian, I was able to go on and configure for a long time before I got it. At least over a year. I think it was a couple years. Not only is there nothing like this for the Scout, there also isn’t anything for the R2, and that should get released in the first half of this year.

Rivian got burned, because they put the price in the configuration tool. Over the two years or so, inflation was crazy and their costs went up. They tried to raise the prices, and people complained/cancelled reservations. They ended up dropping the prices back down. This was good for us customers but terrible for their finances. I think this lesson likely has manufactures a little hesitant to show too much too soon. It’s not just pricing. They don’t necessarily want to advertise options they may have to cut in the future.

I was thinking about the R2 yesterday and how it’s coming out soon but reservation holders haven’t been able to place their orders yet. I haven’t seen anything that they have anyway.

I would love something without pricing with different colors and wheels and things. Gemini has been pretty good to change the exterior color buts it’s terrible with wheels and the interiors.
