Terra height with 37" tires and roof rack?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Watched The Sound of Scout video and they touched on the Silo Green color and indicated it would have 37" tires with a roof rack. That is one very sharp looking vehicle.

Wondering what the height of that specific model will be. If it gets too tall, it won't fit into the garage. The website dimensions list 77.7" for the height, but not sure that is accurate with those larger tires and roof rack.

Jamie, can you answer this? @Jamie@ScoutMotors

Can’t say for sure but having seen them in person with 35’s and rack on top of you have a 7’ OH garage door you are gonna be barely squeaking by. The prototypes are built with a look of a give or take 2-3” lift though I recall them saying 37’s would fit without mods but would still think a bit of lift for good measure when bouncing around. It’s gotta be damn near impossible to squeeze under a 7’ OH door. But hope it does so you can build it your way

Welcome to the community. I took some measurements of the Traveler with my iPhone when I saw the last year at Nats. So that’s with a 35 on an offroad setup. I measured without the rack and with. I know it’s not the Terra with 37s but it Va give you some idea.

It appears now that the roof rack is an optional item on the Terra, along with the 37" tires. We would want the 37" tires (New Mexico desert off-roading is not far away from us) without the roof rack. I believe it should fit in our garage with a 7'4" opening....

More importantly, it's when we can get our hands on one. We want the BEV, not the Harvester so it looks like those will be produced at the end of the initial builds. 2028 maybe? Fingers crossed for earlier, but expecting it in 2028.....

@cyure Thanks for those pictures. That helps visualize just how large these vehicles will be. The Terra is essentially a full -sized Silverado/F-150 equivalent.

I think it's unlikely that you'll be able to order a Scout with 37s from the factory. I think their point in including them on the concept vehicles was that it could accommodate 37s.

Wheels and tires are the easiest things to change after purchase, especially if Scout uses an existing, popular lug pattern.

Ford offers them on the Bronco from the factory. I think we may just see them on Scouts, too. I guess, I wouldn’t count them out yet anyhow.

I can’t remember where, but I thought Jamie stated somewhere on this forum that they were not going to offer the 37s from the factory, just that they wanted to demonstrate that it is possible to put them on (I think with the right lift).

I won’t say this that I am certain of this, though.

I recall hearing that too. I may have heard it in NYC when they had the traveler and we were talking wheels

37’s? Or the 35’s with Squatch? When we ordered I dont ever remember seeing 37’s or is that a new option?

We had this discussion elsewhere on the forum.

The Ford F-150 Raptor and Raptor R and the Ford Bronco Raptor have (had?) an option to come from the factory with 37s.

In that same thread is where Jamie said that the 37s may not make it into production.

I thought he posted that somewhere too.

Thanks-completely forgot about that thread and discussion. I just remember when we got the Bronco my daughter negotiated daily for SAS. One of a handful of times her case didn’t hold up in court. But she should’ve gone into law-she loves negotiating
