That seems really tall. That would be 6’4” to 6’6” without a rack. Now when I was at Nats I did show someone what I was doing and asked if they were correct. They looked at my pictures and said they looked about right.I believe the Scout Motors web page gives the height dimensions as something like 76” to 78” in the drawing. Which doesn’t seem to include a rack.
Standard residential garage doors are 7’ high so that is the magic number. I’m sure the 35’s and basic rack will be snug but doable. Add bigger tires or a higher lift and you will be on the brink of not fitting. Parking garages aim for 7’ but not all the time so pulling up and seeing if you hit the yellow safety bar above will be the ultimate test.6'5" with the roof rack is monstrous....I love it! This is why I want a measuring tool on ordering. I don’t want to worry about fitting height wise. The official height of the traveler (with the 33” tires) is 76.3", including the antenna. That’s without the rack/top hat. Add on 35” tires, and you’re at 78.3”, which is about 6.5 feet tall. Again, without the top hat.
For comparison, the stock 4 Runner TRD Pro with 33” tires is 74 inches tall.

That is great info and seems to fit the notion of designing to fit stock options within a standard garage. But again, once people let lose and start modifying with aftermarket parts that’s when the height will become issue-especially if you enter garage on an incline if you approach angle makes front edge of rack a smidge higherThe official height of the traveler (with the 33” tires) is 76.3", including the antenna. adding 2" of tire height only adds 1" to vehicle height. that 2" is in full diameter so under the axle is only half of that. the other half is inside the wheel well. The official height of the traveler (with the 33” tires) is 76.3", including the antenna. Yes, I was typing too fast.adding 2" of tire height only adds 1" to vehicle height. that 2" is in full diameter so under the axle is only half of that. the other half is inside the wheel well.
This is one of the only reasons I want an adjustable suspension on the Scout. I know air suspension isn't ideal for serious off-roading but I love having the ability to raise or lower the height of my R1T should want/need to.Standard residential garage doors are 7’ high so that is the magic number. I’ve @‘ed Jamie a couple times on this to no avail. Only thing official I’ve seen is this which kinda implies no:
Will Scout® vehicles offer a spare tire? | Scout Support

Thanks for letting us know. Back to faith and patience.I think the spare tire discussion has to wait on the final specs and given models and trims. There are so many variables in tire and wheel sizes, Harvester, no Harvester, and on and on. We don't want to give any information that is incorrect or subject to change.
Similarly, when we bring staff to these events, they try to answer questions, but are often nervous about what they can and can't say, both broadly or in small details.
Completely fair. Thanks for being transparent about that JamieI think the spare tire discussion has to wait on the final specs and given models and trims. These measurements seem reasonable to me. As I mentioned, I'm 6'1" without shoes, and the roof of the Traveler with 35's was about even with the top of my head (hard to tell because I couldn't stand exactly next to it). And an antenna wasn't visible, but I could see that adding a few inches. The roof rack would also add some as well.Same, short of going to a parking garage in Chicago here and there I’m really not worried about size.
My Traveler will be the largest vehicle I have ever owned and I can’t wait.
Now, if you take off the tire carrier, roof rack, throw a smaller street tire and have it on a regular not off road setup I wonder if that will solve some problems for people.
Here’s are the measurement pictures I took at Nats last year using my iPhone for anyone who hasn’t seen them. And I asked in Chicago, the rails are the same height as the rack.

76.3” on the Traveler. 77.7” on the Terra. That seems really tall. That would be 6’4” to 6’6” without a rack. Now when I was at Nats I did show someone what I was doing and asked if they were correct. They looked at my pictures and said they looked about right.
Then when I was in Chicago trying to do another measurement a gentleman from SM asked what I was trying to do. I told him. He asked me if I was the one who posted the measurements from Nats. (See they do read the forum) I told him yes and that’s when he told me the rails made it the same height as with the rack. That’s why I didn’t redo measurements there as nothing had changed.
I’m hoping we do get a very detailed diagram so that when we are building our Scouts and adding wheels and tires and racks and things, the diagram will have the measurements of our exact Scout with the options and accessories we have chosen.
Jamie has said there will be a drivers side grab handle. We all have to have one.I absolutely loved getting a chance to see the Scouts in person. We have reservations for both Traveler and Terra. My only design gripe is I hope they put a driver side grab handle in the production vehicle. I recently traded my 3500HD for a Silverado EV and miss that dang handle more than I ever thought I would. Size wise I think both Scouts are perfect, and you have to keep in mind these are on 35's and 37's to show what's possible with these. Production vehicles will likely be available/start in milder specs for lower tiers. The Traveler feels to fit between a Tahoe and 4Runner/Landcruiser which is just about right. Still plenty of room in the back for real adults. And the Terra was bigger than Rivian which, for me, is a good thing. A deep enough bed and big enough rear seating. As for the latest scuttle, they are saying 10,000lbs. towing for the Harvester again for both Scouts, and that both with start delivering in '28. And I wasn't able to get target weight of confirmation of ability to flat tow out of them. View attachment 15805
I missed that but I am pleased to hear this news.Jamie has said there will be a drivers side grab handle. We all have to have one.
I’m trying to find it and not having any luck. Anyone have the post where Jamie said we would have a drivers side grab handle? I don’t think he’s said exactly where, but I’m 99% sure he said they would have one.I missed that but I am pleased to hear this news.
