Rear Cargo Barrier for pets and gear

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I would be awesome if Scout offered a Cargo barrier/pet divider option for both keeping you safe in an accident and keeping your pets where they need to be.

The aftermarket is going to take a while to start offering accessories for a new vehicle from a "new" company and I can definitely see a demand for this from the Overlanding crowd as well as parents of fur babies.

Some designs allow it to be folded up out of the way if you are sleeping in the cargo area.

No pets (wish-but asthma and allergies in the house) but I think these are great but like many other items I think this would be best as aftermarket for same reason as many other suggestions we’ve all discussed on here. I’m sure SM will be (if not already) working with appropriate aftermarket manufacturers to get them sizing specs so they can have products ready to go nearly the same time the Scouts start rolling off the line. I would say for all the forum members who would like this upvote it soon so SM knows it’s in demand and can hook up with suppliers/manufacturers.

When you build a 4Runner they have so much stuff like that. I just don’t understand why you would want to put camping chairs and coolers in a car loan. So yes have them but don’t make us purchase items like that. The Supra came with $70 red Toyota phone charging cables. And they have it listed as an accessory so they won’t take it off. If someone wants it sure, but I don’t want to have things in my loan unless they are actually attached to the vehicle, except maybe floor mats.

I agree but I’d be a sucker for some Scout orange threaded cables. But I’ve said that before as well -so guess if offered I’d be dumb enough to pay.

They should sell them now. I would totally buy them but I don’t need them as a line item on my window sticker.

When we pick up our Scouts they should have a Scout Supply shop with all that stuff. If you want to add it to the price of your Scout great, if not you can just buy it.

I would still buy OEM parts after purchase.

Already bought some swag and I don’t mind going straight to them if accessories match their design language.

Could very well be in a minority here though.

I’m sure there will be aftermarket options years down the road, but for the immediate I’d like to see it happen if Scout could swing it.
