Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scoutsâ„¢. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Should Scout release a configurator tool before preorders are available?

  • Yes, I would really like to play with it while I wait

  • No, I would prefer for colors, packages, and pricing to be finalized

Same, no black interior for me. Just based on the concepts and the fact that the vintage Scouts had different color interiors with plaid even, I would bet we get some great options, not just black.
I liked the Terra’s interior, and the exterior is even close to my first car, a 1966 Scout. Think I would prefer that hot metallic/electric yellow exterior on mine though.

I have made a post requesting a Visualizer Tool in the Suggestion Box if yall want to add anything else and/or vote on it there.

Personally as far as the interior color goes, I ultimately don’t care that much. I’d rather have an all-black interior than an all white, cream, or light gray interior.

The reason I say that is my work. I’m a carpenter, in south-east Texas. When I’m done with my day I’m usually completely soaked with sweat and covered in sawdust. I’ll most likely be putting things like water-proof seat covers and steering wheel covers on to protect the fabrics anyhow. That’s where I’ll likely get my splash of color and personalization from, because even if they offer really cool plaid seats or something, I’ll ruin them in no time.

Edited to add: I’m not saying that the options shouldn’t be there. Absolutely I hope some really fun ones are, just for me it won’t matter because I’ll be trying to protect it anyhow.

I completely agree. Have options. An all light. An all dark. And then the two that they have currently. Then have a plaid panel option that can be put into any of the four options.
