Ideas for camo design when the Scouts hit the streets

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I just saw the pictures of the production intent R2s in camo out on the streets.

It got me thinking, what do we think the camo should look like for the Scouts. The R2 is trees and wilderness.

What about farm theme? Combines. Rows of wheat. Or because they are going for an off-road crowd would something else be more appropriate?

What do you all think?

Saw those photos as well and when the camo pattern got unveiled a few months back. I love seeing unique camo patterns and not the typical black and white. Maybe scout could do with rural patters with like you mentioned some farm themes, out doors, campsites etc.

Camouflage on vehicles is primarily used by automakers to hide the design details of prototypes during testing, preventing the public from seeing what the new models look like. This is achieved through various patterns and materials that obscure the vehicle's features and make it difficult for cameras to focus on them. As long as they can accomplish this with some of the themes you mentioned , then sure.

I mean, as long as its got a lot of patterns and distracting shapes, almost anything could work.

Some random thoughts, that I'd assume are nowhere near the mark.

  • Where's Waldo?
    • I mean, they make something like 8k piece puzzles for wheres waldo, that are enormous. I imagine that you could do a bigger version in a wrap for the car.

  • Flames
    • I mean, you could go traditional hotrod flames

    • But you could also go more "campfire" vibes, and that would fit the whole "community" vibe they've been throwing out too
  • Trees
    • Yeah, I know. But I could get behind something like this.

If we aren't really camouflaging anything. We just what something eye catching and somehow relatable to Scout then the chains are off go crazy. So maybe we start calling them just Scout wraps.

I think since we’ve already seen them it probably won’t happen. Maybe is 6-8 years when gen 2 comes along but at that point it can be whatever. Maybe lighting bolts and antique keys and kites

Okay but the R2 has been on display and there’s pictures on their website of the thing. They rolled it out on stage like Scout did. With that being the case then why are they driving about in camo?
