Feature Suggestions for Scout Engineering

What is the best way to suggest features to Scout directly? They should ask for suggestions and start a poll since there is so much time until release. I have a few features that I consider must-haves:

1. A rugged interior trim option. The nice leather and white fabric looks cool but it's not functional. We need a waterproof, rugged, rubber-lined, interior option. Think jumping into the car in a still damp wetsuit, throwing your sandy items in the back, and washing out the interior with a hose when you get home. Drain holes and an option for an adventure key would be great. Seat material even more durable than the Suburu sport trim (scratch/tear resistant, waterproof, salt resistant). We need an interior trim option for people that want to beat on the truck.

2. Sentry mode and dash cam mode using onboard cameras

3. Innovative accessories. Roof tent that can connect to electric with AC, light bars, projector, etc. Hell, throw in some electric toothbrushes and a hair dryer if you want. Just make it fun.

Just FYI there is another thread nearly identical to this started a week ago and another that’s similar that’s been running nearly two years. May be beneficial to move your thoughts to one of those but not my rodeo-just a suggestion

That was the plan. I was just hoping someone would know which one has the most interaction from Scout, and then I'll delete this one to keep the forum clean. There seem to be several similar threads but I don't know if there's an official one that Scout themselves are monitoring. If not they should make one and implement a poll.

That I don’t know but I just saw a duplicate and didn’t want people spreading answers as it probably skews the info for the SM team. I think yours is more cohesive but tracking it along side the other may skew-that’s my thought

"Highway Mode" -

The vehicle should recognize when it's being driven on the highway - high speed, few turns - and automatically disconnect the front drive motor to become RWD only.

My Polestar 2 does this, and this increases the range when driving on the highway by reducing consumption from the battery.

The traction control system should recognize when wheel slip occurs (ice, snow, rain) or when acceleration is needed (passing) and the front motor could then be engaged.

Preconditioning and a good route planning are key. Hopefully a dog/pet mode as well. With Rivian software we should be in good.

Absolutely love the ethos this company is promoting right now! American brand, old school brand coolness, tough out of the box, American made, forward thinking...just to name a few things. Honestly, right out of the gate, I'd suggest the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Stupid. Absolutely nailed the design (interior and exterior). People have a ton of fun ideas, but I imagine the biggest deal breaker for most people would be price. You start adding massaging seats, FSD, and what amounts to "the truck better make me coffee in the morning", you kill the product right out of the gate because of price. Execution of all the ideas stated during the reveal is paramount. It's one thing to have a cool design, but if the fit and finish are lacking, it will greatly diminish the brand and show people that quality is not as important.
I believe this company has a tremendous opportunity to knock this out of the park and is off to a fantastic start. Stay in your lane, don't get sidetracked with tons of features and trying to be a jack of all trades but a master at none. Build a solid foundation first, execute on promises, and for goodness sakes, KISS.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again - make the “brights” button by your foot! I’m still shocked this ever changed in the automotive industry! Small feature suggestion for the engineering team ?

Also, I’ve never been a huge fan of rivian, simply because I don’t like the styling. But I think they have amazing and very creative ideas. One thing I hope Scout motors steals from Rivian… the fold down rear seats of the R2 that make it completely flat for an inflatable mattress. That is genius. Get a RTT and you have sleeping for 4 in a tiny package. It would be cool to incorporate other camping features on the interior too, like maybe mesh screens hidden in the doors that can pull up when the windows are down, so you can have the open-air feeling of a tent while sleeping inside - assuming they, in fact, do copy the R2 mattress compatibility.

I'd rarely use that feature HOWEVER seats that fold completely flat would be amazing for hauling big bulky cargo and that is something I could definitely get behind.

that has been one thing I have used several times in my Ford Flex. All the non-driver seats fold down flat, including the front passenger seat. I've been able to bring back long wood boards for building shelving or impulse buys from the thrift stores. Very handy since we don't have a truck.
