Create a Offroad Online Community

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

My idea is for Scout to create a offroad online community similar to Jeeps Badge of Honor where once you complete certain trails you receive a physical badge that you can place on the vehicle. The community to go further than what Jeep offers and tie it into the vehicle infotainment center also. If your out with a group that has their scout you can share your location with them, leave waypoints to your location and other features not thought of yet. My ideal name for the community would be Scouts Honor but that's too close to Jeeps Badge of Honor. I asked Gemini to help create a mission statement and ideas that I will be posting below for others here to review and make suggestions on.

Here are 15 name ideas for your community, categorized by the feel they project:

The "Achievement" Names

These focus on the rewards and "earning" aspect, much like the Badge of Honor program.
  1. Scout Merit: A direct play on the "Scout" name and the classic idea of earning merit badges.
  2. The Harvester Medal: Honors the original manufacturer (International Harvester) and feels prestigious.
  3. Scout Trail Marks: Simple and rugged, focused on the physical evidence of where you’ve driven.
  4. The Scout Ledger: A "ledger" is where you record history; this name suggests a community that logs every adventure.
  5. Pathfinder Honors: Focuses on the "Scouting" aspect of finding new ways through the wilderness.

The "Heritage" Names

These lean heavily into the history of the International Harvester (IH) brand.
  1. The Harvester Circle: Suggests a tight-knit community with deep roots.
  2. 1961 Society: The year the first Scout was born. It feels like an exclusive "insider" club.
  3. Iron & Earth: A nod to the "Iron" history of IH and the off-road capability of the vehicles.
  4. The Fort Wayne Collective: A deep-cut reference to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where the original Scouts were built.
  5. The Terra Frontier: "Terra" was a legendary Scout model name; this sounds like a group for explorers.

The "Community & Adventure" Names

These are modern, punchy, and focused on the social aspect of the brand.
  1. Scout Waypoints: Focuses on the specific locations and coordinates people visit.
  2. The IH Exchange: Short, classic, and suggests a place where owners share tips and trail stories.
  3. Scout Vanguard: Positions the community as leaders in the new EV off-roading movement.
  4. The Scout Compass: A timeless symbol of navigation and finding your own way.
  5. Harvester Ridge: Creates an image of a gathering place or a specific destination for owners.

Mission Statement

To unite a new generation of explorers by honoring the rugged heritage of the Scout. We aim to build a community where every trail driven and every obstacle overcome is a shared victory, fostering a spirit of adventure, stewardship of the land, and a deep connection to the "American Original" legacy.

Community Features

To make this community as engaging as the Jeep Badge of Honor, here are several features designed to bring Scout owners together:

1. The Digital "Merit Badge" System

  • Trail Check-ins: Using the mobile app’s GPS, owners "check in" at famous off-road trails to unlock digital badges.
  • Physical Awards: Once a certain number of trails are completed, owners can request high-quality, physical metal badges to mount on their vehicle’s "Honor Rail."

2. The Scout "Field Guide"

  • User-Generated Maps: A shared library of trail maps, including difficulty ratings, charging station locations for EVs, and "points of interest" like scenic overlooks or historic IH landmarks.
  • Trail Etiquette Tips: Simple guides on how to "Leave No Trace" and tips for technical off-roading.

3. "The Ledger" (Personal Journal)

  • Adventure Log: A private or public space where owners can upload photos, notes, and stats (like battery usage or incline angles) from their trips.
  • Milestones: Celebrates achievements like "First 1,000 Miles Off-Road" or "Highest Elevation Reached."

4. Community "Roundtables"

  • Regional Hubs: Groups organized by location so owners can plan local meetups, "Coffee and Crawls," or group trail runs.
  • Expert Q&A: Live sessions with Scout engineers or seasoned off-roaders to discuss vehicle maintenance and trail tech.

5. Heritage Archive

  • Classic Meets Modern: A section dedicated to the history of International Harvester where owners of original Scouts can share stories, helping new owners appreciate the brand's roots.
