Columbia SC accommodations

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Big Rig Friendly RV Resort Expands Near Blythewood, SC to Support Growing Workforce Needs

Big Rig Friendly RV Resort has officially expanded near Blythewood, South Carolina — home of the new Scout Motors plant — and just a short drive from Jenkinsville, where the VC Summer Nuclear Station is preparing to reopen. This strategic location puts the resort in perfect proximity to two of the region’s most active industrial hubs.

To meet the rising demand for workforce housing across the greater Columbia area, Big Rig Friendly has just opened 25 brand-new RV sites, designed to accommodate big rigs and monthly stays. In addition, the resort is introducing log cabin units, providing a much-needed solution to the area's lodging shortage.

These new cabins offer all the comforts of home, giving professional workers a relaxing and reliable place to stay while on assignment. With amenities tailored to traveling tradespeople and a quiet, convenient location, Big Rig Friendly RV Resort is stepping up to serve the growing number of professionals calling the Midlands home — even if just for a while.

I’ll say welcome reluctantly. Can’t figure out if you are sharing news-which is very interesting and solves some short term growing pain issues or you are self promoting your business which nobody here is fond of. That said I love the idea but encourage you to make a few posts to make your time on here legit. The SM mob of pitchfork wielding members came after the real estate agent who self promoted like a month ago. Just a friendly reminder

We are definitely trying to get the word out. We have some of your people staying with us now and they love. To say I am not promoting would be incorrect, we are but we are a legitimate solution. I surely do not want to offend but we are a legitimate resource for some of your workers. Any advice is welcome. Thanks

@Jamie@ScoutMotors is there a resource site for employees where this information could be posted? As someone who has relocated before it’s always helpful to have information like this but as this is a more general forum I’m not even sure how many employees are on here. Thanks!

There are only 2 active Scout employees on this forum so while they may see it behind the scenes you probably are missing your opportunity to get the right people’s attention. As an architect and neighborhood designer (my company is breaking into SC ) I see what you are offering as a great solution to the current needs for the next few years so kudos to your campground and living options. Glad @cyure pointed you in the right direction

HOWEVER...Looking to the future...once the Scouts start rolling out the doors...wouldn't it be awesome if a local RV Resort were to cater to those new Scout buyers. But only if there wasn't the dreaded SC franchise laws prohibiting the Direct to Customer sales. Those franchise laws will likely negatively effect the local economy and South Carolina. SC could be a destination for those who want to pick up their Scouts at Blythewood, South Carolina. A BIG missed opportunity! @billmcleod contact your state representatives and senator as many of us have and tell them do away with those outdated protectionist laws. That's where you could fit in to this forum.
