I know that Cabin pre-heating/cooling is a thing that many EV owners use, when they have a consistent schedule (ie, I leave for work every morning at 8am, make sure the car is 70f). This is based on that, but different.
Here is what I'm envisioning, roughly.
"I expect to be back to the vehicle roughly <+- X minutes time range> around <THIS time or duration> , and I would like to have the vehicle at <Y> temperature"
The use case here, is "I just got back from a mountain bike ride in 40f raining weather, and am soaked/cold, and would rather not wait for the cabin to warm up". Of course, my particular hobby of choice is mountain biking, but I think that this would be a popular feature for many other of the adventurous/outdoor activities that I think Scout vehicles will be used for frequently (skiing, snowmobiling, scuba diving, etc).
So I could head out on a mountain bike ride, and before I get out of the car, I could just say "This should be about a 1.5hr ride, have it at 72f when I return", or "I'll be back from the hike sometime between 2-3pm, cool the cabin to 75f", or something like that. And it would be all nice and toasty/nice and cool when I got back, as long as I was in the target time window. You could probably also achieve this using other methods (phone apps manual request, or maybe GPS geofencing), but many places that people are doing these things... don't have reliable connectivity, So I think a simple timer based approach would still be valued.
Maybe this is something that other brands have done, and I've just not used/seen it yet. And it doesn't have to be done all the time. But would be nice (I think anyway) to have the option to do this when needed. And I do think this would very much fit into their ethos, and would be appreciated by the target market.
Thoughts?
