A place to put your physical media CD and DVD player

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I think it would be an excellent idea for scout to have a CD and DVD player as when you’re out in the mountains you don’t always have cell service and you can’t always play your music or watch a movie and if you have a CD and DVD player you don’t have to worry about that plus if you don’t pay monthly for subscription like Apple or Spotify or you don’t want to you can use your own CDs and DVDs. I think this could be a cool option and maybe you can make it like a C6 Corvette where the screen flips up revealing the DVD and CD player that would be pretty cool. Or it could just be a regular cd and dvd player doesn’t need to be fancy but it would be nice if it was and if you like this don’t forgot to upvote so more can see

Do you think it would be too much to ask for my Zune also? :ROFLMAO:
Hey all that vintage stuff is expensive. I have a son and husband whole like the older media devices. Heck we even have movies on 8 mm tape and we still have the little portable Sony 8mm players with a built in screen you can play them on. Buying any of the old stuff, refurbished or not, and it’s expensive.

Facts.

I have Pandora streaming (yeah-I’m old) but I have so many play lists I’ve made i don’t want to go to Spotify and have to rebuild them
I still use Pandora as my primary music streaming service (the free version). I've never even used Spotify, or Apple TV, or others. I do have a fair number of CD's, but even in my Jeep that still has a CD player... I don't hardly use them. I almost always stream music via bluetooth adapter. And yes, it does mean that I'm without cell service, and without music (other than the CD player). But often... I'm ok with the lack of music, because I'm out there to get away from stuff anyway.

The DVD thing I sort of get. But honestly for the last forever what I've done there is rip the DVD's, and take the files on the devices I'm taking.

Road trips with the kids for the last forever have included downloading episodes of whatever kids shows they want to watch (Bluey, PJMasks, Octonauts, etc) onto a tablet/laptop, and then getting a mount/hanging that device between the seats, and then do bluetooth audio to the vehicle sound system.

Yes, this means that we have to plan for this, by pre-downloading things/movies. And yes, this does mean that the selection is "fixed" and static. But thats more or less the same thing as we would do with DVD's. But its one less thing to carry around in the vehicle.

Anyway, I've still got a bluray/dvd/cd collection, and a physical bluray player at home. But I don't think I'm personally interested in a factory option for DVD/CD's for the scout. But I get the desire.
